The surface where the cups wait
The cup tray of the Appartamento is also the top cover of the machine. It closes off the housing at the top and preheats the cups with the residual heat from the boiler. Because it is the most visible surface of the whole machine, every scratch and every limescale mark shows up immediately.
That is exactly the most common reason for a replacement: not a defect, but wear. Cup bottoms slid across the panel leave a dull ring over the years, and a knocked-over milk jug leaves a dent that won't come out. The part number is A019905631.
When it's time
The panel has scratches or a dent that bothers you when you look at it. The surface has gone dull and can no longer be polished back up. Rust is starting to show on an edge. Or the tray no longer sits flat and rattles when you put a cup down – then the panel has warped.

Important for installation
The tray is the housing cover: underneath are the boiler, hot pipes and the machine's electrics. Anyone removing it should first disconnect the machine from the mains and let it cool down completely – even if it's only a “quick plate swap”. We deliberately do not give step-by-step instructions here.
Who it's for
For anyone who wants to refresh the look of their Appartamento, and for anyone refurbishing a used machine. Check the generation: the Appartamento and the Appartamento TCA have different trays, even if they look similar from above.
What goes with it
For the newer generation we stock the complete cup tray for the Appartamento TCA, and for the R Cinquantotto the R Cinquantotto cup tray. To keep the new tray looking good for longer, we only wipe it along the grain of the brushed finish and never in circles. Wipe in circles and after a year you will see exactly those circles in raking light. That is our routine, not a manufacturer's specification. And because preheated cups make a bigger difference than most people think: put your cups up there early and then pull your espresso with Nutty Delight, Cozy Chocolate or Very Nutty. Returns excluded
Spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a test fit on the machine. So please check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine before ordering – or drop us a line and we'll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.

Is this the water tank lid?
No. This is the housing cover on top of the machine, where the cups sit. We stock the water tank lid as a separate item, the tank lid incl. plastic insert.
Is the cup rail included?
No. The rail is a separate item; we stock it in stainless steel and in plastic and have linked both above.
Does it fit an Appartamento TCA?
No. A019905631 belongs to the classic Appartamento. For the TCA we stock a separate tray.
What are its dimensions?
