The 64 mm HU burrs (High Uniformity) are developed specifically for medium and dark roasts and deliver an intense aroma and a creamy crema. Thanks to precise grinding and the long-lasting Red Speed coating, you get the best out of your espresso beans.
Red Speed coating
The burrs are made of tool steel with a thin titanium-aluminium-carbon-nitride coating (TiAlCN, also known as Red Speed). It reduces heat transfer, protecting the flavour, and increases durability – the lifespan is around 5000 kg of coffee.

On the E64 WS and X64 SD, the SSP burrs are around 0.1 mm thicker than the original burrs – recalibrate the zero point after installation (tool-free via the display on the E64 WS). Mahlkönig notes that installing non-original burrs may affect the manufacturer's warranty.
