The discharge chute is where the work of the grinding assembly ends. Everything the burrs have separated falls out here and should land in the middle of the basket – not against the wall, not on the rim, not next to the portafilter. The flapper at the end keeps the channel closed while nothing is being ground and stops leftover grounds from trickling out.
That is exactly why a tired discharge chute shows up in the cup first: uneven distribution, more nesting, shots that vary from day to day. The set of discharge chute and flapper brings the path of the coffee back into line.
When grounds visibly keep trickling out after grinding. When the flapper no longer swings back on its own or is torn. When the channel shows cracks or grounds come out on one side and the puck regularly sits crooked. And when a hard, oily coating has formed inside that can no longer be brushed off.

For everyone who pulls many shots a day with the Zenith and wonders why the distribution in the basket is no longer even. And for everyone who wants to restore a clean state once a year instead of wiping up every morning.
The same area includes the grounds tray for the Zenith and the 65 mm burrs. The cleaning range for machine and grinder keeps the channel clear for longer. You will find more parts under Eureka and under Coffee grinder accessories and spare parts.
We always replace the discharge chute and flapper together, even if only one of the two is causing trouble. A new channel with an old flapper keeps trickling, and you then look for the fault in the wrong place. That is our routine in Bern and Zurich, not a manufacturer's requirement. To dial in afterwards we use Nutty Delight, for chocolatey notes Cozy Chocolate and for body Very Nutty. All roasts under Coffee beans.
Spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a test fit on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a short message and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
Yes, this item is supplied as a discharge chute including flapper.
Yes, both versions of the Zenith 65 are intended. Part number 4400.5100 helps you check against your service documentation.
Usually the flapper no longer closes properly because it has hardened or torn. A look into the channel from below is enough for a diagnosis.
These model series have their own discharge parts. Send us the serial number of your grinder and we will check the fit.
