A clear view of the pressure instead of peering through frosted glass

The pressure gauge on the Linea Classic S sits where every move passes right by it: cloth, milk jug, portafilter. After a few years, the glass shows it. This replacement glass, part number F.1.214, brings the display back to its factory condition without having to replace the entire pressure gauge.

It is a small part with a big effect: a scratched or fogged glass turns a precise pressure reading into a rough estimate. And if you only estimate the brew pressure, you end up adjusting the grinder by feel rather than by a value.

When it is time to replace it

The scale can only be read at an angle from the side. Fine scratches scatter the light and cast a haze over the numbers. The glass is chipped or cracked, for instance after a jug has knocked against it. Or condensation appears on the inside – in that case, however, the entire pressure gauge should be checked, not just the glass.

Who it is for

For anyone who wants to tidy up the look of a Linea Classic S without paying for a complete pressure gauge. Typically the move before a handover, a sale or simply when the machine is otherwise in top shape and only the display looks tired.

What goes with it

From our workshop in Bern and Zurich: We always clean pressure gauge glasses with a soft, only slightly damp cloth and never with scouring cream – this is not a manufacturer requirement, but simply the reason why our demo machines still have readable displays after years. For the test cup afterwards, try Nutty Delight, Cozy Chocolate or Very Nutty from our coffee beans.

Returns excluded
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a trial fitting on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick message and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.

Frequently asked questions

Is the pressure gauge included?

No. Only the gauge glass with the number F.1.214 is supplied.

Does the glass fit every Linea?

It is intended for the Linea Classic S. For other model series, please send us the serial number and we will check which glass is fitted there.

My glass fogs up from the inside. Will a new glass help?

Usually not. Condensation on the inside points to a leaking pressure gauge, in which case the gauge mechanism should be checked. Tell us what you see and we will assess it.

Do I need tools for this?

To replace it, the front panel has to come off and the pressure gauge must be accessible. If you have no experience with this, it is better to leave it to a specialist.

Can I see the part at your showroom?

Yes, in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b.
