The group cover closes off the brew group at the top and carries the water from the valve into the group head. This version, part number SA944, comes with the housing for the flowmeter included. That is handy when the sealing surfaces at both points are worn.
Important distinction: the flowmeter itself is not included. What you receive is the housing it sits in. The measuring unit is a sensor and a separate part.
It leaks at the transition to the group head, and new gaskets only last a short time. The sealing surfaces are eaten away by limescale or have scoring. A thread is stripped or was once tightened too far. Or the flowmeter housing shows cracks and fine traces of limescale at the threaded fittings.

For service technicians carrying out a thorough overhaul of a GB5 or Linea PB, and for businesses that want to fix a leaking group for good instead of retightening it every week.
The cover sits in the pressurised brew water line. The machine must be disconnected from the power supply, depressurised and cooled down before the group is opened. Whether the existing flowmeter can be transferred to the new housing is decided at the machine – for that reason, and because of the torque on the threaded fittings, this replacement belongs in the hands of a qualified technician. We deliberately do not provide step-by-step instructions here.
From our workshop in Bern and Zurich: When we have a group open, we lay the old gaskets side by side on the workbench and check whether they are compressed evenly – our own routine, not a manufacturer requirement. Uneven impressions reveal a sealing surface that is out of true before the next gasket fails on it. For the cup afterwards: Nutty Delight, Cozy Chocolate or Very Nutty from our coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a trial fitting on the machine. So before ordering, please check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick message and we will confirm the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
No. You receive the group cover including the flowmeter housing, but without the measuring unit itself.
No. We stock gaskets and O-rings separately, for example the O-ring for the flowmeter.
The number is intended for GB5 and Linea PB. Because there are variants, we are happy to confirm the fit based on your serial number.
We recommend a qualified technician. The part sits in the pressurised brew water line, and the installation determines whether it seals tightly.
Yes, in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b.
