The diffuser sits at the front of the hot water spout and slows the stream before it hits the cup. Without it, the water shoots out of the pipe at full pressure and splashes over the rim of the cup. This version with an M16 thread and a height of 19 millimetres carries part number A.7.026.
Because it is the finest screen in the entire hot water path, it is the first part to clog. Limescale and fine particles narrow the openings, the flow drops, and at some point filling a teapot takes noticeably longer.
A weak or unsteady hot water stream is usually a limescale problem, not a wear problem. Before you replace anything, descale thoroughly – this often restores the flow completely. You can find suitable products in our Machine and grinder cleaning range, for example the descaler and the descaling pads for the water tank. Only if the diffuser is still blocked afterwards or the thread has been damaged is it time for a replacement.
The hot water stream is weak, unsteady or sprays out sideways even though the machine has been descaled. The openings are visibly clogged. The M16 thread is damaged or the diffuser can no longer be tightened to seal properly.

For businesses with a high hot water throughput, where splashes on the counter and long filling times are a nuisance in everyday work – and as an inexpensive wear part to keep in stock as a precaution.
From our workshop in Bern and Zurich: Every few weeks we unscrew the hot water diffuser and leave it in descaling solution overnight instead of flushing it on the machine – our own routine, not a manufacturer requirement. That way it gets truly clear, and a replacement is needed far less often. For the cup afterwards: Nutty Delight, Cozy Chocolate or Very Nutty from our Coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Service parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a test fit on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick message and we'll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
We strongly recommend it. In most cases limescale is the cause, and then the new diffuser will be blocked again after a short time.
No. A.7.026 belongs in the hot water spout. The brew group diffusers of the Linea Micra and Mini R are separate parts.
Thread M16, height 19 millimetres – as specified by the manufacturer.
