The mixing valve is one of those components you only come to appreciate once it stops doing what it should. It helps determine the temperature at which the water reaches the group head. A needle, a seat, an O-ring – that's all it takes for a machine to stay consistent for hours.
If something in it is no longer right, you'll notice it in the cup before you see it on a pressure gauge. The temperature drifts, the espresso tastes different in the morning than in the afternoon, and settings that worked yesterday no longer fit today. This kit brings together the parts responsible for this: body, needle and O-ring.
When the brew temperature drifts over the course of the day even though the boiler and control system are fine. When the temperature at the mixing valve can no longer be set cleanly and adjusting it either does nothing at all or far too much. When the valve gets damp. And when the needle or seat shows visible scoring or limescale corrosion on opening.
The manufacturer lists the kit under number 1058, formerly F.3.008, with body, needle and O-ring. These three parts are exactly what determines how finely the valve can be adjusted – which is why it makes more sense to replace them together rather than one after another. A new needle in a worn seat won't last long.

The mixing valve sits in the pressurised water circuit inside the machine. Before any work, the machine must be disconnected from the power supply, depressurised and cooled down. After the replacement, the temperature must be readjusted and checked over several extractions. We deliberately do not provide step-by-step instructions for this – have a qualified technician do it, or write to us and we'll arrange it through our service.
For service companies that need to restore a machine's temperature stability, and for businesses that include the classic wear points in the water circuit in their annual overhaul.
In the same water circuit you'll find the Gigleur 1.5 mm M5 for the GS3 mixing valve, the flow meter tube for the mixing valve and the line from the mixing valve to the flow meter and steam boiler. Everything else under La Marzocco accessories and spare parts and Service parts.
After a mixing valve overhaul, we don't measure the brew temperature just once, but at intervals over a full hour. A valve that regulates cleanly when cold can behave differently under continuous load – and it's exactly this deviation that becomes a nuisance in daily operation later on. This is our routine from Bern and Zurich, not a manufacturer specification. We dial in with Nutty Delight, because the blend honestly reveals temperature differences; we also like Cozy Chocolate and Very Nutty. All roasts under Coffee beans.
Service parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold once they have been installed or test-fitted on a machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick message and we'll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
Our documentation lists it without a model assignment. Send us the serial number or the number from your service documentation, and we'll confirm the fit before you order.
1058 is the current part number; F.3.008 was the previous number of the same kit.
If the needle and seat are in perfect condition, yes. If they're worn, a new O-ring on its own won't last long – then the whole kit is worth it.
Yes. The brew temperature must be readjusted and checked over several extractions.
Yes, you can see it in person in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b).
