Two threads, one lever, and the machine is cut off from the water. That is exactly what a shut-off valve is for: so you can work on a seal without shutting down half the bar. Anyone who has needed one once will never remove it again.
This version has a 3/8-inch female thread on one side and a 3/8-inch male thread on the other. It fits where an existing threaded fitting is screwed on directly. The valve is worn when the lever is stiff, when it still lets water through when closed, or when there is a damp limescale trace under the lever.

The valve is under water pressure. Before replacing it, the machine is disconnected from the mains, the supply is closed and the line is depressurised. For pressurised parts we deliberately do not provide step-by-step instructions. If you are unsure whether the thread orientation matches your installation, send us a photo of the spot.
For anyone who works on their La Marzocco themselves and wants to retrofit or renew a shut-off point. And for service companies that keep both thread versions in the van, because you never know beforehand what it looks like under the counter.
If your installation needs a male thread on both sides, take the ball valve with two male threads. Matching small parts and lines are in La Marzocco accessories and spare parts, everything else in service parts. If you are working on the water side during a service anyway, it is worth taking a look at machine and grinder cleaning.
From our workshop in Bern and Zurich: We always fit the shut-off valve so that the lever does not touch the wall or the housing when closed – otherwise you will not be able to close it with wet hands in an emergency. That is our routine, not a manufacturer specification. And since a test shot is due after any water work anyway: for us it is usually the Nutty Delight, sometimes the Cozy Chocolate or the Very Nutty. You will find them all in coffee beans.
No returns
Service parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured to order and cannot be resold after installation or a trial fitting on the machine. So before ordering, please check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or send us a short message and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
Look at the two counterparts the valve will sit between. If both have a female thread, you need the version with two male threads. If one of them has a male thread, this valve here with the number L164.02 is the right one.
No. The valve is purely mechanical and operated by hand. There is no coil, no cable and no power on it.
The thread size is 3/8 inch. Our documentation does not state which models La Marzocco intends this valve for. Send us the serial number and we will check the fit before you order.
No. The valve is supplied with lever. Hemp, sealing tape or flat gaskets are provided by the technician.
Yes. In our showrooms at Gerberngasse 44 in Bern and Hagenholzstrasse 50b in Zurich, we will lay out both thread versions side by side for you.
