After every shot, the pressure has to leave the brew group. This happens via the brew valve and exactly this small line – audible as a short hiss, visible as a jet of water into the tray. If the line drips or the hiss is missing, something is wrong here.
This drain line runs from the brew valve of the GS3 to the drain. It is a wear and service part: if you are working on the group anyway, replace it at the same time.
Water collects under the machine that does not come from the drip tray. The drainage after the shot sounds different or does not happen at all. Moisture or limescale traces appear at the screw fitting. Or the line was bent out of shape during an earlier disassembly.

In the GS3 service documentation, the line is listed under part number T.2.114.
The line sits inside the machine at a pressurised point, directly next to live electrical components. We deliberately do not provide step-by-step instructions for this. Have the replacement carried out by a specialist who depressurises the machine, disconnects it from the mains and then checks it for leaks.
For service technicians working on GS3 machines and for workshops that renew the line at the same time during a group overhaul.
The same water path includes the internal group line GS3 MP Paddle and the copper line from the 3-way valve to the mixing valve. All parts for the machine are listed under Spare parts La Marzocco GS3, the rest of the range in the Service parts overview.
Workshop tip from Bern and Zurich
After the replacement in Bern and Zurich, we place a piece of kitchen paper under the screw fitting and pull five shots – if the paper stays dry, everything is tight. That is our routine, not a manufacturer's specification. We pull the five shots with the Nutty Delight Blend or the Cozy Chocolate Natural, for milk drinks with the Very Nutty Robusta. More under Coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Service parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after being installed or test-fitted on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or send us a quick message and we will check the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
The line is supplied. We are happy to clarify in advance which seals your year of manufacture needs – send us the serial number.
It is listed for the GS3. Depending on the year of manufacture and version, the routing of the line differs, so we are happy to check the fit in advance.
We advise against it. The line is located in the pressurised area and close to live electrical components.
By moisture or light-coloured limescale traces at the screw fitting and by water under the machine that does not come from the drip tray.
Yes. Come to our showroom in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 or in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b and we will look at it together.
