The large EPDM ring in the 2,62 series – 37,77 mm inside

Among the rings with a 2,62 millimetre cross-section, this is the widest one La Marzocco lists in this series: 37,77 millimetre inner diameter, EPDM material, hardness 70 Shore A. The part number is H.1.060. Diameters like this typically sit around a cover, a flange or a valve body, not in a small screw fitting.

Precisely because this series includes four rings with the same cross-section but completely different diameters, it pays to look at the number rather than at the ring. Side by side on the table they look different; in the bag without a label, they no longer do.

When it's due

A ring of this size usually makes itself known through a dripping edge around a cover or flange that weeps when heating up and is dry when cold. Sometimes there is also a ring of limescale at the joint line. When removed, the ring is hard, shows a visible flattening on two sides and sticks in the groove. Tightening doesn't help – it only squeezes it flatter.

Important for installation

The ring seals a joint that carries water or steam. Let the machine cool down, disconnect it from the mains and fully release the pressure. We deliberately don't give step-by-step instructions here. With large diameters in particular, it's worth checking the ring all the way round in the groove before closing – if it twists along one section, it won't seal there.

Who it's for

For service companies that open an assembly and have the number H.1.060 on the drawing. And for workshops that keep a small stock of the common EPDM sizes so that an open cover doesn't have to wait for a delivery.

What goes with it

Same cross-section, different position: the O-ring 2,62 × 21,89 mm for the ModBar steam tap, the O-ring 2,62 × 17,13 mm FKM 70 ShA and the PTFE O-ring 2,62 × 12,37 mm. For an overview, see the categories Original spare parts and La Marzocco accessories and spare parts.

From our workshop in Bern and Zurich

With large rings, we briefly lay the new ring loosely in the groove before installation and check whether it sits all the way round without tension. If you have to stretch or compress it to make it fit, it's the wrong one – and you'd rather find that out now than after reassembly. This is our routine, not a manufacturer's specification. We then pull the test shot with Nutty Delight, sweeter with Cozy Chocolate, stronger with Very Nutty. More roasts under Coffee beans.

No returns

Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and can't be resold after installation or a test fit on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick message and we'll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.

How does this ring differ from the other 2,62 rings?

Only in the inner diameter. 37,77 millimetres is the widest in this series; alongside it there are 12,37, 13,1, 17,13 and 21,89 millimetres. The cross-section is the same on all of them.

Where does the ring sit?

Our documentation doesn't say. What counts is the number H.1.060 on the exploded view of your machine.

Is EPDM right here?

Yes, that's what the parts list says. EPDM is the standard material for hot water and steam; it doesn't tolerate oils and greases, but these don't occur at this point in an espresso machine anyway.

Do I get one ring or several?

The price is for one ring. You enter the quantity in the cart.

Can I pick up the part at your Showroom?

Yes. We're in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Let us know shortly beforehand and the part will be ready for you.
