LEVA brew group plate – the flat surface that gives the lever group its footing

The LEVA lever group works with forces you can feel in your arm. A spring pushes, a piston travels, a lever transmits – and all of that has to be supported somewhere. The plate in the brew group is one of these reference surfaces: inconspicuous, flat, and precisely for that reason indispensable.

If you have ever had a LEVA group open, you know the picture: bare spots where metal runs on metal, a fine score mark on the edge, sometimes slight warping. As long as everything sits flat, the lever runs smoothly. Once it no longer does, you notice it as a jerk in the lever travel.

When it is due

A lever that catches along its travel instead of running evenly. Visible score marks, pressure marks or warping when the group is taken apart anyway. Traces of corrosion after a longer standstill with residual water. And whenever you completely overhaul the group and want to bring all bearing surfaces up to a clean standard at the same time.

Important for installation

The plate sits in the brew group of a lever machine. There, a preloaded spring and a pressurised cylinder are under load, even when the machine is switched off. Before any work, the machine is disconnected from the mains, cooled down and depressurised, and the group spring is released in a controlled manner. We deliberately do not publish step-by-step instructions – an uncontrolled release of the group spring is dangerous. This belongs in the hands of a specialist.

Who it is for

For service technicians and workshops overhauling a LEVA brew group, and for businesses with a lever machine in continuous use that renew the bearing and guide parts during the major service instead of watching them for another year.

What goes with it

The same group includes the LEVA complete piston, the LEVA group head gasket and the LEVA brew group tension spring ring. For working on it, there is the piston puller tool. All other items are listed under LEVA spare parts.

Workshop tip from Bern and Zurich
Our own routine, not a manufacturer specification: before we close a LEVA group again, we slowly pull the lever through five times while it is cold and depressurised, and listen. A properly assembled lever makes a single, even sound – every crack is a clue that is better followed up now than in two weeks. Then the first shot, usually with Nutty Delight. On the lever machine, Cozy Chocolate also shines, and it gets stronger with Very Nutty. Everything under Coffee beans.

No returns
Spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured to order and cannot be resold after installation or a test fit on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or send us a short message and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.

Frequently asked questions

What is the part number of this plate?

Part number A.5.072. If you are working with a number from service documentation, compare it with this one before you order.

What are its dimensions?

Our documentation states neither dimensions nor material. We do not add such details off the top of our heads. Tell us which position you want to replace and we will clarify it for you.

Does it fit every LEVA?

Our documentation lists it for the LEVA. Whether it fits your machine depends on the year of manufacture and the version of the group. Send us the serial number and we will check the fit.

Can I open the group myself?

We advise against it. The lever group contains a heavily preloaded spring that holds energy even when cold. Without the right tool and the necessary routine, this is dangerous. Better to take the machine to a specialist or to us.

Can I pick up the part in Bern or Zurich?

Yes. We have Showrooms at Gerberngasse 44 in Bern and at Hagenholzstrasse 50b in Zurich. Send us a short message and we will have the part ready for you.
