Steam wand repair kit for the ModBar – the maintenance that keeps a counter running
With a ModBar, only the wand sits on the counter; the technology is housed in the under-counter cabinet. It looks tidy and works wonderfully – until the wand starts hissing and you find out that the service visit is booked up for weeks. That is exactly why a steam wand repair kit belongs in every well-kept spare parts drawer.
The wear points are predictable: where the wand swivels and where it sits on the valve body. Milk residue and limescale speed things up. If you purge and wipe regularly, you will get a long way – but at some point a kit is due anyway.
When it is due
Hissing at the wand joint, even when the tap is closed. A ring of limescale on the valve body that comes back after wiping. A wand that no longer stays in position. Drips from the valve body after heating up. And whenever you remove the wand for cleaning anyway and the sealing points are visibly worn.

Important information on installation
The steam valve body is under boiler pressure, and on a ModBar the boiler is out of sight in the under-counter cabinet. Before any work, the system must be disconnected from the mains, allowed to cool down completely and depressurised. We deliberately do not provide step-by-step instructions – precisely because you cannot tell from the wand on the counter whether there is still pressure below. This work belongs in experienced hands.

What goes with it
The steam side of the ModBar also includes the overhaul disc for the steam tap, the O-ring 2,62 × 21,89 mm and the spring for the steam valve. For the drain line there is the ModBar steam drain hose 50 cm. You will find all other items under Original spare parts.
Barista tip from Bern and Zurich
Our own routine, not a manufacturer requirement: we consistently purge the ModBar wand before and after every milk drink and wipe it with a damp cloth while it is still warm. Dried-on milk at the joint attracts limescale, and limescale at the joint ruins more gaskets than the steam itself. For the test shot afterwards we use Cozy Chocolate; for a nuttier cup try Nutty Delight, for a stronger one Very Nutty. Everything under Coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or test fitting on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or send us a short message and we will check the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.

Why can't I find the part using a model filter?
There is no separate entry for ModBar in our model selection, so the product has no model tag. The fit is shown in the table, and you can always find it by its part number.
