In a lever group, the force does not travel in a straight line but via a roller that follows the cam. The bushing in this roller is the part that slides inside it. It makes sure the pull feels light and the movement does not tilt. Once it is worn, the roller runs at an angle and you feel a point on the lever where it catches.
The manufacturer lists this roller bushing for the lever group under part number F.3.086. One bushing is supplied, without roller, axle or retaining elements.
The lever pull has a point where it gets heavier or briefly catches. It grinds or squeaks when the roller moves along its track. The roller visibly no longer runs centred. Or the removed bushing shows an oval bore, scoring or material wear on the end face.

The bushing sits in a mechanically preloaded assembly on the pressurised group. That is why we do not give step-by-step instructions: the machine must be disconnected from the power, depressurised and cooled down, the spring force released, and after installation the roller must have no play and must not run at an angle. This belongs in professional hands.
For service technicians who bring a lever mechanism back to full health. For businesses whose lever pull has developed a spot where it catches after years of use. And for workshops that treat roller, bushing and axle as a set during an overhaul.
More parts are available in Spare parts for La Marzocco LEVA, the brand at a glance in Accessories and spare parts for La Marzocco, and everything from our service stock in Service parts. When the group is open, it is the moment for machine and grinder cleaning too.
Workshop tip from Bern and Zurich
Our own routine, not a manufacturer's specification: if the lever catches at one point, we turn the removed roller between two fingers. A healthy roller turns evenly, a worn one noticeably sticks somewhere. Afterwards we always do a test pull, preferably with Nutty Delight. Sweeter with Cozy Chocolate, stronger with Very Nutty. Everything else in our coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured to order and cannot be resold after being installed or test-fitted on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a line and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
No. The bushing is supplied according to manufacturer position F.3.086. Roller, axle and retaining parts are separate positions – we are happy to put the set together for you.
By the point in the lever travel where it catches, by grinding noises and by a roller that no longer runs centred. Once removed, you often see an oval bore.
Whether and with what is decided by the specialist based on the condition of the bearing point. We do not give a general recommendation on this.
We recommend a specialist, because a preloaded spring is involved in the lever group and the roller must then run without play.
Yes. We are in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Let us know shortly beforehand and we will have the part ready.
