A button head is the compromise between good looks and strength: gently domed, with a large bearing surface, without the sharp edge of a socket head. La Marzocco uses it wherever a screw has to transmit force and look tidy at the same time.
This item is an M6 with a length of 10 millimetres, made of stainless steel, part number I.1.097. Good to know: there is a second M6 × 10 in the range – the socket head cap screw with number L120/2. Same size, different head. If you pick the wrong one, you will notice at the latest when the component no longer sits flat.
The head is scratched or shows traces of rust, the drive is worn out, or the screw can no longer be tightened evenly. Also typical: during the last service a hardware-store screw was fitted that is now rusting – then it is worth switching to the rust-free original.

If the screw sits inside the machine, the machine is first disconnected from the mains, depressurised and allowed to cool down. With a button head, the bearing surface is what matters: wipe the contact surface clean, position the screw straight, tighten evenly. We deliberately do not give step-by-step instructions here.
For service companies that stock their range of standard parts with the genuine La Marzocco items, and for anyone who doesn’t want to make do with whatever happens to be in the box during an overhaul.
The version of the same length with a different head is the M6 × 10 socket head cap screw, the long variant is the M6 × 50 screw. For M6 heads that are to be concealed, the cover caps are the neighbouring item. Everything else under Original spare parts and La Marzocco accessories and spare parts.
Workshop tip from Bern and Zurich
This is our routine, not a manufacturer specification: if we are not sure whether a removed screw had a button head or a socket head, we lay it flat on the table. The socket head stands up straight, the button head rocks slightly. That is enough to tell them apart in nine cases out of ten. Meanwhile, Nutty Delight is running through our machine; more under Coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold after being installed or test-fitted on the machine. Therefore, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine before ordering – or drop us a line and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
The head. This one has a gently domed button head and the number I.1.097, the other one is a socket head cap screw with the number L120/2. Size and thread are the same.
We have no verified information on this. The manufacturer’s description only names the head shape. It is best to compare it with the removed screw.
The item description doesn’t say, and we won’t make it up. The number I.1.097 in your service documentation will lead you to the spot – or send us the serial number.
One screw. If you need several, order the corresponding quantity.
