The Swift Mini also takes a step off the team's hands: it grinds into the portafilter and tamps by itself. The work is done by the impeller, a disc at the lower end of the tamper shaft that distributes and compacts the ground coffee. It is in contact with the coffee on every shot and presses against it.
When it is worn, you don't notice it on the grinder but in the cup. The puck surface becomes uneven, the shot starts flowing faster on one side, and the times vary more than they used to. This item is the impeller for the Mini, part number A.5.125.R.
The pucks are lopsided or wavy. The espresso channels repeatedly in the same spot. The edge of the impeller is visibly worn, with grooves or chips. Or ground coffee cakes onto the impeller and can no longer be removed with regular cleaning.

The impeller sits on the driven part of the grinder. Before any work, switch the machine off and unplug it from the mains. We deliberately do not provide step-by-step instructions here. After the replacement, tamper height and dosing are checked and the first puck is inspected carefully before the grinder goes back into service.
For businesses with a Swift Mini whose pucks no longer look right, and for technicians overhauling a grinder that has seen plenty of use. If only the dose fluctuates, check the burrs and the setting first.
The Mini's impeller goes together with the segment O-ring 3.53 × 37.69 mm. Its bigger sister has the Tamper Impeller 5.331.01, and the connection to the shaft is made by the tamper shaft coupling. The grinding unit includes the ceramic burrs. Everything else can be found under Pico and Swift spare parts and in the coffee grinders section.
From our workshop in Bern and Zurich: When we replace the impeller on a Swift Mini, we renew the segment O-ring at the same time – it costs little and is accessible right then. This is our own routine, not a manufacturer requirement. Afterwards we grind and pull three cups as a check, usually with Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight. If you like it stronger, go for Very Nutty; the full selection is under coffee beans.
No returns
Spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a test fitting on the machine. So before ordering, please check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick message and we'll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
