The cup tray holds the pre-warmed cups; it is where things get set down, moved around and wiped. It is the most heavily used visible surface on the whole machine – and the first place where you can see how a GS3 has been lived with. Rings from the bottoms of cups, fine scratches from cups set down with saucers, and traces of cleaning agent along the edges.
This part with part number C.1.047 is the tray itself. It is not a wear part in the technical sense, but a part you replace when the machine should look like it did on day one – before reselling, after an accident with a pair of pliers, or when the sheet metal has warped and the cups no longer stand level.
The surface is scratched, tarnished or dulled by an aggressive cleaner. The tray is warped or dented, and cups wobble. The material has torn at one corner. Or the machine is being overhauled and should look right again too.

Beneath the cup tray are the boiler, hot lines and mains voltage. So even for a plain piece of sheet metal: switch off, disconnect from the mains, let it cool down and depressurise before loosening anything. We deliberately do not give step-by-step instructions here. If you only want to refresh the look of the machine, have the replacement done together with the next service.
For GS3 owners who want to restore the look of their machine, and for dealers refurbishing a machine before resale. If there is just a film of limescale on the tray, gentle cleaning will often get you further than a new sheet.
The matching tray for its little sister is the Cup tray Linea Mini V2. Also part of the look of the GS3 are the back panel without logo, the LM logo and the drip tray grate. Everything else is in the La Marzocco GS3 spare parts section.
From our workshop in Bern and Zurich: We only ever clean cup trays with warm water, mild washing-up liquid and a soft cloth, always in the direction of the grain. Scouring cream and chlorine cleaners turn a matt surface into a blotchy one in seconds. This is our own routine, not a manufacturer requirement. Afterwards we put two cups on top and pull an espresso, ideally the Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight. If you like it stronger, go for the Very Nutty; the full range is under Coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be put back on sale after being installed or test-fitted on a machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick message and we will work out the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
C.1.047 is the base number without a colour suffix. At La Marzocco, endings such as .60 stand for black, .50 for white and .GR for chrome – this one has no such ending, so we do not claim a colour. If your GS3 is coloured, send us the serial number and we will check the correct version.
No. What you get is the tray, with no heating element and no electrics. On the GS3, the heat comes from the boiler underneath.
No, only the tray is supplied. We stock matching screws as separate items.
The manufacturer information does not specify any dimensions. What matters is the number C.1.047 and the year of manufacture of your machine.
Yes. We are in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Let us know beforehand and we will have it ready.
