The small gasket that keeps things from trickling past the funnel

A funnel gasket sits between the funnel and the component below it and seals the transition so that nothing gets past the joint. You never see it as long as it does its job. As soon as the rubber hardens, it loses its preload, the joint opens by a tenth of a millimetre, and that is exactly where a fine rim builds up over time.

Gaskets like this do not age through wear, but through heat and time. They become brittle, lose their elasticity and no longer spring back once the component has been loosened. That is why a removed gasket should not go back in, but be replaced. This one has the part number C.2.085.

When it is due

A fine seam appears on the edge of the funnel and keeps forming again even though you clean it. The gasket feels hard instead of soft, has cracks along the edge, or sticks in its groove during removal instead of popping out. Even if the component above it no longer sits snugly after reassembly, the gasket is the first suspect.

Who it is for

For workshops that have a device open anyway and replace the gasket right away during reassembly. And for anyone who has an invoice or service documentation with the number C.2.085 in front of them and is looking for exactly this part.

What goes with it

More gaskets and small parts can be found in the Original spare parts section. The rest of the La Marzocco range is available under Accessories and spare parts. To keep anything from building up on gaskets and joints in the first place, take a look at Machine and grinder cleaning.

From our workshop

When we take a device apart in Bern or Zurich for something completely different, we put every gasket that comes out on the table and press it briefly with a thumb. If it does not spring back, it does not go back in. That is our routine, not a manufacturer requirement – but it saves a second appointment. Afterwards we have coffee: usually Nutty Delight or Cozy Chocolate, and on long days also Very Nutty. The full selection is under Coffee beans.

No returns

Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured to order and cannot be resold after installation or a trial fitting on the device. So check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine before ordering – or send us a quick message and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.

Frequently asked questions

Which device does this gasket belong to?

Our documentation does not say, and we do not guess here. The reliable reference is the number C.2.085. Give us the serial number of your device and we will check the match before you order.

What are the dimensions of the gasket?

We have no information on that either. We only pass on what is documented – anyone who can measure it is on the safe side.

What material is it made of?

The material is not specified. A gasket of the same size made from a different material is therefore not a reliable replacement – temperature resistance and hardness matter too.

Can I reuse the old gasket?

We advise against it. A gasket that has been compressed once has lost its preload and rarely seals as well the second time as it did the first.

Can I see the part in your shop?

Yes. We are happy to show it to you in our Showroom in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b.
