The diffuser sits in the group head and distributes the water over the puck. It is screwed in, becomes stuck after years, and its gripping surfaces are so flat that any pliers leave marks. This tool engages with a precise positive fit and turns it out without rounding off the edges.
Anyone who has tried it with water pump pliers knows how that ends: rounded corners, a diffuser that won't come loose at all next time, and in the worst case a damaged thread in the group head. The tool costs a fraction of that.
If the shower flows unevenly, limescale is almost always the cause, not the diffuser itself. Remove it with this tool and soak it overnight in a descaling solution – in most cases the flow pattern is even again afterwards. What we use for this is listed under Machine and grinder cleaning, for example the descaler. Only if the holes stay blocked even after that or the body is damaged is a new diffuser worthwhile.
The tool is not a wear part but basic equipment. Order it if you want to remove your diffuser regularly for descaling, if you service a Linea Mini R or Micra yourself, or if your current diffuser shows marks from improvised tools.

For anyone who has a Linea Mini R or a Linea Micra at home and wants to look after the brew group themselves, and for service workshops that look after both model series. It is one of the few tools that is worthwhile even for a single machine – because the diffuser is the part you handle most often.
The matching parts are the Linea Micra diffuser, the Linea Mini R diffuser and the diffuser gasket. Descalers and cleaners are listed under Machine and grinder cleaning, further items in the categories Linea Micra spare parts and Linea Mini spare parts.
From our workshop in Bern and Zurich
With us, the diffuser comes out every four weeks, even if nothing seems wrong – and it never goes back in dry: a drop of food-safe grease on the thread, and next time it can be loosened by hand. That is our routine, not a manufacturer specification. Our shot afterwards is a Nutty Delight, because it shows you straight away whether the shower is flowing evenly again; if you like it sweeter, go for the Cozy Chocolate, if you want more punch, the Very Nutty. All of them are listed under Coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a trial fitting on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a line and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
If you want to remove the diffuser regularly: yes. Pliers round off the gripping surfaces, and a rounded-off diffuser won't come loose next time.
Our documentation lists UT007 for the Linea Mini R and the Linea Micra. Send us the serial number if you are unsure.
No. What is supplied is the tool. We stock the diffuser and gasket as separate items.
Usually not. Remove it and soak it overnight in descaling solution. Only if that doesn't help is a replacement worthwhile.
Yes. We are in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Just let us know which part you need and we will have it ready for you.
