A strain relief holds the power cable in place where it passes through the housing. It absorbs every jolt the cable takes from outside – when the machine is moved, when it is cleaned, when the plug is pulled out – and transfers it into the sheet metal instead of the terminal behind it. Without it, every pull acts directly on the wires.
Made of plastic and warm for many years: at some point a strain relief like this becomes brittle. The tab breaks off when it is opened, the clamping no longer holds, and the cable can be pushed back and forth in the opening. By then at the latest it should be replaced, not taped over.
It is due when the power cable can be moved by hand in the housing opening, when the locking tabs are broken, when the plastic shows cracks or has discoloured, or when it was removed during the last service and damaged in the process. After removal, it should as a rule be replaced.

The strain relief sits right at the mains connection. Work in this area belongs in the hands of a qualified technician: the machine is disconnected from the mains before the housing is opened, and the strain relief must grip securely again after installation, otherwise it does not do its job. We deliberately do not give step-by-step instructions here.
For service workshops that replace a power cable or a terminal and renew the aged small part at the same time instead of bending it open a second time.
You'll find parts for the same machines in the categories La Marzocco Linea Mini spare parts and La Marzocco GS3 spare parts. More small parts are listed under Original spare parts and in the category La Marzocco accessories and spare parts.
From our workshop in Bern and Zurich
After every job on the housing, we give the power cable a gentle pull before the machine goes back on the mains. If the cable moves in the opening, the strain relief hasn't clicked into place properly – that's our routine, not a manufacturer's requirement. Afterwards there's a Nutty Delight, sometimes the Cozy Chocolate or the Very Nutty. The full selection is under Coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold once installed or test-fitted on the appliance. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a line and we'll check the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
No. The strain relief carries no current, it only holds the cable in place. But it sits right next to the mains connection, and that's why replacing it belongs in expert hands.
No, only the strain relief is supplied.
Our documentation lists E.2.009 for both models. It gives no restriction regarding years of manufacture or series – if in doubt, send us the serial number and we'll check the fit.
If it is undamaged and clicks cleanly back into place, yes. As soon as a locking tab is broken, it no longer holds reliably.
