Grind the grinder empty, tablets into the hopper, press the button: it crunches a little differently than beans, and instead of coffee grounds a fine powder trickles out of the chute. Follow with a portion of beans, and your grinder is ready for the next espresso. The cleaning tablets from MHW-3BOMBER come in a 160 g jar.
Over time, coffee oils and fine grounds build up on the burrs and in the grinding chamber. The grain-based tablets run through the burrs just like beans, absorb oil and old residue along the way and carry them out of the grinder, without you having to unscrew anything. Afterwards you grind a small amount of coffee so that no cleaning residue stays in the burrs.
First, grind your grinder completely empty. Then add the tablets to the hopper and grind them through like beans. Finally, grind a small amount of coffee and throw those grounds away.
The right amount is printed on the jar and depends on the size of your grinder. In our experience, a medium grind setting is a good starting point for the tablets to run through evenly; afterwards, set your usual grind size again.
In our shop you’ll also find Puly Grind Verde in 10 single portions, handy if you don’t want to dose yourself. The MHW-3BOMBER 160 g jar is the option for dosing yourself: you take as much as your grinder needs.
The tablets are meant for electric coffee grinders, at home and in the café. We don’t recommend them for the built-in grinder of a bean-to-cup machine, because residue can get into the brewing unit. That’s our cautious recommendation; if in doubt, follow your machine manufacturer’s instructions.

For everyone with an electric coffee grinder who wants to keep the burrs fresh between two deep cleans, whether it’s a single-dosing grinder at home or a hopper grinder in a café. Also handy when you switch beans: that way the fruity omniroast doesn’t taste of yesterday’s dark espresso.
Tip from our café: In our experience, you notice the difference most with light roasts. Otherwise, old oils from dark beans add a bitter undertone. After cleaning, Wild Peach shows its peach note more clearly, and Bright Cassis brings its blackcurrant fruit cleanly into the cup. When you’re back to something chocolatey and dark, Cozy Chocolate is a good match. You’ll find all varieties among our coffee beans. That’s our recommendation, one of many.
You’ll find more care products for machine and grinder in our machine and grinder cleaning range. Prefer pre-portioned? Then go for Puly Grind Verde in 10 single portions. For wiping the chute and counter afterwards: the MHW-3BOMBER microfibre barista cloth. More tools from the brand are in the MHW-3BOMBER collection.
No. The tablets run through the burrs like beans and take coffee oil and old grounds with them. Afterwards you grind a small amount of coffee so that no cleaning residue is left behind.
The amount depends on the size of your grinder and is printed on the jar. What matters is that the grinder has been ground completely empty beforehand.
In our experience, with daily espresso at home, once every two to four weeks is enough. If you grind a lot or use dark, oily roasts, a little more often.
We don’t recommend them for the built-in grinder of a bean-to-cup machine, because residue can get into the brewing unit. That’s our cautious recommendation; if in doubt, follow your machine manufacturer’s instructions.
