On a grinder, the grind adjustment knob is the part that decides the quality in the cup – not because it grinds anything itself, but because it is meant to make the adjustment fine and repeatable. As long as it sits snugly, you turn it a few clicks and know where you are. Once it develops play, fine-tuning turns into guesswork.
This does not happen suddenly. The knob's mount wears out over the years, and at some point you have to turn it a fair bit before anything happens at all. This replacement knob belongs to the Rocket Faustino, part number R8G9996892.
The knob is due when you can turn it a little without the grind setting changing. When, after an adjustment, you can no longer reliably find your way back to the same point, even though you turn back the same number of clicks. When it shows cracks at the mount or feels as if it sits crooked on the shaft. And of course when it is broken.
A troubleshooting tip: if the adjustment becomes stiff overall, the cause is often not the knob but coffee oil and grounds residue in the thread of the grinding chamber. A thorough grinder cleaning comes before the spare part – you'll find products for this in Machine and grinder cleaning.

| Version | for the Faustino – the adjustment wheel of the Faustino V2 is a different item |
| Brand | Rocket |
For anyone with a Faustino whose grind adjustment has developed play, and for service workshops bringing a grinder back to a defined condition. Rocket fitted a different adjustment wheel on the Faustino V2 – if you are not sure which generation you have, send us the serial number and we'll identify it before you order.
Burrs, bean hopper and the other Faustino parts can be found under Rocket Faustino and Fausto spare parts. You'll find more grinder accessories under Coffee grinder accessories and spare parts, and our full range of original spare parts under Original spare parts and replacement parts.
Our routine from Bern and Zurich – not a manufacturer specification, but what we do with every grinder: after replacing the knob, we don't set the grind from memory. Instead, we go all the way to the zero point, where the burrs just touch, and work our way back from there. It takes five minutes and saves a week of trial and error. As a reference bean we use Nutty Delight, because it reacts clearly to changes in grind size. For fine-tuning, Cozy Chocolate; for strong milk drinks, Very Nutty. More in our coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold once they have been installed or test-fitted on a machine. So before ordering, please check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick message and we'll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
No. The V2 has a different adjustment wheel with its own number. Let us know which generation you have and we'll tell you the right item.
Usually yes, because the new knob rarely sits in exactly the same position. Plan for a few test shots.
No, only the knob is supplied. If the mechanism itself is worn out, that is a different item – describe to us what you are observing.
