The screen that decides whether the water hits the puck evenly
The shower screen distributes the brew water across the entire surface of the coffee grounds. Sounds simple, but it makes the difference between an even extraction and one where the water finds a channel while the rest of the puck stays dry. This item is the shower screen for the brew group of the Rocket Boxer, part number M619905432.
In commercial use, it is a genuine wear part. The finest coffee grounds lodge in the holes, fat from the coffee oils bakes on, limescale builds up on top – and at some point you can see the uneven flow as a blotchy pattern on the knocked-out puck.
Descale first, then replace
A shower screen that distributes poorly is, nine times out of ten, not broken but clogged. Backflushing with a suitable cleaning powder dissolves the coffee fat, descaling clears away the rest – and the distribution is right again. You'll find the right products in our Machine and grinder cleaning section. Please never drill out the holes or poke them clear with a needle: every widened hole permanently shifts the distribution in the wrong direction. Only when cleaning and descaling no longer help is it time for a replacement.
When it's due
Reasons to replace it: a blotchy, uneven flow pattern on the knocked-out puck that remains after cleaning, clogged or visibly widened holes, a warped or bent shower screen, corrosion, and an extraction that consistently runs differently from the neighbouring group.

Important for installation
The shower screen sits in the brew group, which is hot and under pressure during operation. Before doing anything, unplug the machine and let it cool down. Do not overtighten the retaining screw – the thread is in the group body, and a stripped thread there means major damage. We deliberately do not provide step-by-step instructions here.
Who it's for
For businesses with a Boxer where extractions differ between the groups, and for service technicians. As a wear part, it belongs in the spare parts drawer together with the screw and O-ring – it makes sense to replace all three parts together.
What goes with it
From our workshop in Bern and Zurich
Once a week we take the shower screen out completely and soak it overnight in a cleaning solution instead of just backflushing. What's left in the basin afterwards surprises most people – and the extractions then run noticeably more evenly. This is our routine, not a manufacturer requirement. You see the difference best with a bean with a clear structure, such as Nutty Delight or Cozy Chocolate; for everyday café use with lots of milk we use Very Nutty. Everything else is in our coffee bean selection.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or test fitting on the machine. So before ordering, please check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick message and we'll clarify the fit together. This does not affect your rights in the case of defective goods.
How often does the shower screen need to be replaced?
That depends entirely on throughput and cleaning routine. If you backflush daily and descale regularly, it will last for years. Without cleaning, it is sometimes a matter of months.
Can I drill out clogged holes?
No. Every widened hole permanently changes the water distribution. Cleaning and descaling yes, mechanical intervention no.
Are the screw and O-ring included?
No. We stock both as separate items: screw R319905585, O-ring R499905544.
What is the diameter of the shower screen?
Diameter, hole pattern and material are not specified in the documentation. The part number M619905432 is what counts.
Can I see the part in your showroom?
Yes. We are in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Bring your old shower screen and we'll compare the hole pattern.
Not sure about the fit? Send the serial number of your machine to [email protected]. We deliver across Switzerland and to Liechtenstein in 2-4 working days.
