The Appartamento has little sheet metal and plenty of character. The front panel is the piece closest to the action: below it the brew lever, above it the steam knob, and in front of it, every day, a portafilter that occasionally knocks against it when you lock it in. So it is precisely this panel that collects the most marks – fine scratches around the group, a dent on the lower edge, a dull streak where the cloth always takes the same path.
This front panel is the original part for the Appartamento of the TCA generation. It replaces the existing one, and the holes are in the same places. The coloured panel insert is taken out of the old panel and fitted into the new one – it is not included here and does not need to be bought new if it is still in good condition.
A front panel is replaced when its appearance bothers you or the mechanics suffer. There are four typical reasons: a dent after a fall or a hard knock with the portafilter; scratches and scuff marks that no product can polish out any more; worn or distorted screw holes, so the panel no longer sits free of tension and rattles slightly; and spots of corrosion on the lower edge, where water splashes up from the drip tray and stays there.
If the panel simply no longer sits flush, it's worth checking the screws and the panel insert first – often a shifted insert is the cause and not the sheet metal itself.

For anyone who wants to make their Appartamento look good again after a mishap, and for workshops preparing a machine for resale. The replacement is one of the few housing jobs on this machine that can be done without special tools – provided the machine is disconnected from the mains and has cooled down.
In the Rocket Appartamento spare parts section you'll find the other parts for this machine. We stock the coloured insert for the panel separately as Panel insert copper and as Panel insert black. If you want to renew the entire sheet-metal body right away, you'll also find the Appartamento housing with us.
Workshop tip from Bern and Zurich
Before screwing it on, we lay the old and the new panel side by side on a cloth and compare the holes. It takes twenty seconds and saves you unscrewing everything a second time if the wrong generation was in the box after all.
And because no repair at our place ends without a tasting: afterwards an espresso with Nutty Delight, Cozy Chocolate or Very Nutty runs through the group. You'll find the full selection in our Coffee beans section. This is our own routine in the workshop, not a manufacturer requirement.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a trial fitting on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a short message and we'll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
No. The panel comes without an insert. If your existing insert is still in good condition, simply move it over to the new panel. We stock replacement inserts in copper, black and white as separate items.
No, only the panel is supplied. The existing screws are reused. If one of them is stripped, write to us – we'll find the right one for you.
The number A01I007920 is specified for the TCA generation. Whether it fits an older year of manufacture is something we cannot derive from the documentation, so we don't claim it does. Send us the serial number and we'll check it.
We don't have any dimensions. We only state what is in the documentation, and it lists only the part number and the machine.
Yes. Bring the removed part to our Showroom in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 or in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b, and we'll compare it directly with the spare part and you can take it with you right away.
Not sure whether the part fits your machine? Send us the model and serial number at [email protected] and we'll check the fit for you. We deliver across Switzerland and to Liechtenstein in 2-4 working days.
You order directly through our online shop. If you have questions, we're happy to help — online or in person — with experience from our roastery, cafés and showrooms.
