When a replacement makes sense
Uneven steam is often limescale or dried milk in the holes. Cleaning and descaling is therefore the first step. You will find milk system cleaners and descalers in Machine and grinder cleaning.
A replacement makes sense if the tip is mechanically damaged or the holes no longer clear after cleaning. Before changing it, switch the machine off, unplug it and let it cool down completely. The steam wand is under pressure during operation.

PEEK is a heat-resistant high-performance plastic and conducts heat far less than metal. As a result, the outside of the tip gets less hot than a metal tip. The steam wand itself stays hot.
The tip steams unevenly. Do I need to replace it?
Not necessarily. The holes are often scaled up or coated with milk residue. Cleaning and descaling is the first step, without a needle or wire, as that can widen the hole. If the tip is damaged, replacing it makes sense.
