Grind adjustment in small steps again, not in jumps
On a grinder, the grind adjustment knob is the part that decides the quality in the cup – not because it grinds anything itself, but because it is meant to make the adjustment fine and repeatable. As long as it sits snugly, you turn it a few clicks and know where you are. Once it develops play, fine-tuning turns into guesswork.
This does not happen suddenly. The knob's mount wears out over the years, and at some point you have to turn it a fair bit before anything happens at all. This replacement knob belongs to the Rocket Faustino, part number R8G9996892.
When it's due
The knob is due when you can turn it a little without the grind setting changing. When, after an adjustment, you can no longer reliably find your way back to the same point, even though you turn back the same number of clicks. When it shows cracks at the mount or feels as if it sits crooked on the shaft. And of course when it is broken.

Our routine from Bern and Zurich – not a manufacturer specification, but what we do with every grinder: after replacing the knob, we don't set the grind from memory. Instead, we go all the way to the zero point, where the burrs just touch, and work our way back from there. It takes five minutes and saves a week of trial and error. Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold once they have been installed or test-fitted on a machine. Does the knob also fit the Faustino V2?
No. The V2 has a different adjustment wheel with its own number. Let us know which generation you have and we'll tell you the right item.
Do I need to readjust the grind afterwards?
Usually yes, because the new knob rarely sits in exactly the same position. Plan for a few test shots.
Is the adjustment mechanism included?
No, only the knob is supplied. If the mechanism itself is worn out, that is a different item – describe to us what you are observing.
How long does delivery take?
