In the brew group of a Boxer, exactly one thread holds the shower screen in place. It is flushed with hot water during every backflush, loosened and retightened at every cleaning, and it sits in an environment where limescale builds up. No wonder the head eventually gets stripped or the thread no longer grips properly.
This item is the shower screen screw for Rocket Boxer and R9, part number R319905585. A penny item that can bring a brew group to a standstill – and one of the parts a business should simply keep in the drawer.
When it's due
The reason is usually obvious: a stripped screw head, a thread that no longer bites when tightened, visible corrosion or limescale damage, or a shower screen that comes loose during operation. If you're replacing the shower screen anyway, it makes sense to replace the screw at the same time – it costs next to nothing and saves a second service appointment.

Important for installation
The screw sits in the brew group, i.e. in a hot, pressurised area. Before every step, unplug the machine and let it cool down. Don't overtighten it: the thread is in the group body, and a stripped thread there is far more serious damage than a worn screw. We deliberately don't provide step-by-step instructions here.

It costs less than the effort of opening everything up a second time – and a screw head that strips next time costs you the whole afternoon. Our routine, not a manufacturer requirement. What thread does the screw have?
Thread size, head shape and material are not specified in the documentation. The part number R319905585 is what counts.
Can't I just use a screw from the hardware store?
We advise against it. It sits in the hot, pressurised water path of the brew group – material and fit have to be right, otherwise the thread in the group body suffers.
Is the shower screen included?
No. We carry the shower screen and O-ring as separate items.
Does it also fit an Appartamento or Giotto?
The number is assigned to the Boxer and R9. For other model series, send us the serial number.
