Origin & Cultivation

Region : Sidama — particularly the mountain village of Shantawene in the Bensa Zone, southern Ethiopia.

Altitude : The plantations are located at 1 900–2 300 m above sea level – optimal conditions for slow ripening and concentrated aromas

Producers : Daye Bensa, founded in 2006 by the Dukamo brothers. Supports over 1,000 smallholder farmers in Shantawene, Karamo, and Bombe – a total of 15 washing stations.

Natural (dry processing) : Fully ripe cherries are harvested and sun-dried on raised beds, where they are regularly turned. This method enhances fruity depth and sweetness.
