Available as Bright Cassis with a more tangy acidity (low to medium) or Rich Cassis for those who prefer it richer and darker. From espresso to cold brew to filter, this exciting blend brings creaminess and vibrant fruitiness.

Origin & Cultivation

• Region : Sidama — particularly the mountain village of Shantawene in the Bensa Zone, southern Ethiopia.

• Altitude : The plantations are located at 1 900–2 300 m above sea level – optimal conditions for slow ripening and concentrated aromas

• Producers : Daye Bensa, founded in 2006 by the Dukamo brothers. Supports over 1,000 smallholder farmers in Shantawene, Karamo, and Bombe – a total of 15 washing stations.

• Natural (dry processing) : Fully ripe cherries are harvested and sun-dried on raised beds, where they are regularly turned. This method enhances fruity depth and sweetness.

Quality & Awards

• In 2020, Shantawene achieved 7th place among over 1,400 entries at the Cup of Excellence in Ethiopia
