Normcore Coffee Utensil Storage Holder – Acrylic Holder for Puck Screens & Tamper Bases

It's morning, and you're standing at your machine. Your hand reaches to the side — and the Puck Screen is exactly where it was yesterday. Next to it, the next one. Next to that, the third. No searching, no digging, no pile of accessories that has to find space somewhere. Just clarity at your station. A small acrylic holder that solves one big thing: everything you need for espresso, visible and within reach.

The Coffee Utensil Storage Holder from Normcore holds up to eight Puck Screens or Tamper Bases. Eight — that sounds like a lot at first, until you notice how quickly accessories pile up. Different mesh strengths, different materials, one for the shallow basket, another for the tall one. Each has its place. Magnets on both sides make the holder stackable — join two or three units together and you've built yourself a modular station. A solution that grows with your collection.

What makes this holder stand out

Acrylic as a material is an honest choice. No wood that patinas for years, no stainless steel that chills the bases. Acrylic is clear, light, sturdy, washable — and in its frosted look (clear or black) understated enough to fit into any espresso bar without dominating it. If a deliberately minimalist counter matters to you, this hits the right note: present, but not in the way.

The magnets on the sides aren't a gimmick. If you own several holders over time — one for 58mm Puck Screens, one for the 54mm Tamper Bases of a second machine, one for the tamper distributors — you can connect them together. That keeps the counter tidy and turns several separate pieces into one coherent system. Our take on it: especially if you switch between 58mm and 54mm, or run several machines, this modular logic is exactly what's usually missing. Others see it differently — some prefer a single, statement-making wooden holder. Both are legitimate.

The holder is available in three sizes: 51 mm, 54 mm and 58 mm. The size refers to the diameter of the basket. If you use a 58mm portafilter, you need the 58mm holder. When you switch to a second machine with a 54mm basket, you simply add the matching holder — and the two connect magnetically.

Who it's for

For everyone who treats their espresso bar as a deliberately designed spot — not as a dumping ground. For everyone who owns more than one Puck Screen and doesn't want to dig through a drawer every time. For everyone who collects Tamper Bases with different diameters or convexities and wants to keep them organised. For everyone working with several machines or basket sizes who wants a modular system.

Nobody needs this holder. The Puck Screen works fine lying flat in a drawer too. The question is a different one: do you want to enjoy the moment every morning when you're standing at your machine? If so, keeping order at your station isn't a requirement — it's part of the ritual.

A good match from the CCC range

If you want to fill your holder, we've got the matching accessories. For Puck Screens and tamper distributors, we carry Normcore for everyone who wants precise accessories at an affordable price, as well as the premium option from Weber Workshops for everyone who wants to get the most out of pre-infusion and distribution. In the broader Tamper range you'll find everything from the WDT tool to the Tamping Station.

If you're after order across your whole station, take a look at our barista equipment range — you'll find tamping mats, knock boxes, and other stations that work together with the holder.

Frequently asked questions

Which size fits my machine?

The size refers to the diameter of your basket. A La Marzocco, Rocket, ECM, Profitec or Arkel with a standard 58mm portafilter needs the 58mm holder. Machines with a 54mm basket need the 54mm holder. Older or specialty machines with a 51mm basket need the 51mm holder. If you own several machines with different portafilters, you can combine several sizes magnetically into one system.

How many Puck Screens fit inside?

Up to eight. That covers almost every need — even if you collect different mesh strengths or add Tamper Bases with different convexities.

Can I also stand up full tampers, not just bases?

The holder is designed primarily for Puck Screens and Tamper Bases (modular distributors like the Normcore V4.1 or Weber Bases). Full tampers with a handle are better off elsewhere — you'll find matching stations in the Tamper range.

How does the magnetic stacking work?

Two magnets sit on each side of the holder. Two or more holders can be joined side by side and hold together on their own. The system can be expanded as needed — you start with one unit and add more as required.

Can I see the holder live before buying?

Yes. In our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zürich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b), you can discover the holder in person. We'll show you how it fits into your espresso bar and which size matches your machine.

How long does delivery take in Switzerland?

2–4 business days, across Switzerland and to Liechtenstein. Click & Collect in Bern and Zürich is possible. For questions, we're reachable by email at office@coffeecoachingclub.ch or by phone during business hours.

Roastery tip

Once your holder is set up and the Puck Screen is sitting in it, it's worth asking what happens underneath. Our experience from the roastery: most jumps in flavour don't come from better equipment, but from fresh beans. A Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight – full-bodied, dense, chocolatey – gets more out of your setup than any extra tool. If you're feeling more adventurous, the Wild Peach is a fruity alternative for days when something different is called for. Our opinion — one of many.
