This is the original stainless steel central axle for the Comandante C40. It supports the inner burr and the click-based grind adjustment. With the standard axle, one click adjusts the grind by approximately 30 micrometers; a full rotation comprises 12 clicks. For those seeking finer intermediate steps, the Red Clix axle offers an alternative with a halved step size.
Stainless steel is durable and dimensionally stable – which is why the axle is a part that rarely needs replacing, but as an original spare, it's worth it when the time comes.
