Eureka Mignon Specialita 55 – quiet espresso grinder with 55mm burrs

Early morning, the house still quiet – one press of a button, and the grounds fall fluffy into the portafilter without waking anyone. The Specialita grinds whisper-quiet, thanks to a thick-walled, sound-dampened metal housing. That's what fresh espresso feels like before the machine has even warmed up.

The Mignon Specialita is Eureka's home espresso grinder from the Mignon range, with the largest burrs in the series. As a partner, we carry it in many housing colours. It's made in Florence.

What makes the Specialita special

55mm flat burrs in hardened steel

The largest burrs in the Mignon range pull the beans through quickly and coolly, delivering an even particle distribution – the foundation for clean, dense espresso.

Whisper-quiet

A sound-dampened metal housing with rubber mounts noticeably lowers the grinding noise – one of the quietest grinders of its kind, letting you pull a shot at six in the morning without waking the house.

ACE-System

The Anti-Clump & Electrostaticity system reduces static charge in the grounds. The result: fluffy, clump-free grounds and an even dose in the basket.

Stepless adjustment

The patented micrometric adjustment moves steplessly from fine to coarse. Because it acts below the burr set, your setting stays put even after cleaning.

Touchscreen dosing

The digital touch display lets you program two timed doses accurate to a tenth of a second, or grind manually on demand.

Adjustable hands-free fork

The height-adjustable portafilter fork fits common portafilters and keeps your hands free while the grinder doses.

Espresso in focus, filter included

The Specialita is built as an espresso grinder: the flat 55mm burrs deliver an especially even grind in the fine range, with low retention – ideal for grinding pre-weighed doses. Grind output is around 1.4 to 1.8 grams per second for espresso and 1.9 to 2.5 grams per second for filter. With espresso, there's no “right” or “wrong”: grind size, dose and ratio are the dials you use to find your taste. A good starting point is 1:2 – about 18 g of ground coffee to roughly 36 g of espresso.

Who it's for

For everyone who wants clean, consistent espresso at home and is looking for a grinder that works quietly and lasts for years. The Specialita is a fitting companion to any espresso machine with a 58mm portafilter – whether you're setting up your first proper espresso grinder or coming from a smaller one. No burr set here is too much or too little; it comes down to what you're looking for in the cup.

What goes with it

The Specialita pairs well with machines from the ECM, Profitec, Rocket Espresso, or La Marzocco collection; for lever extraction, Flair Espresso. For puck prep, a dosing funnel or WDT tool from the Normcore range. A scale rounds out the workflow – affordable from the Normcore range or with app and flow-rate display from the Acaia collection. Matching containers, dosing cups and a single-dosing kit are waiting in our Eureka collection. Plus fresh beans from our coffee beans selection.

Roastery tip

For the Specialita and a dense, balanced espresso, you can't go wrong with Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight spot on – chocolatey, nutty, full-bodied. If you're after maximum body without acidity, go for Very Nutty; for a fruity, bright experience, it's worth trying Wild Peach. Work your way to your ideal setting in small steps, and you'll find all our beans in our coffee beans selection. That's our recommendation, one of many.

Frequently asked questions about the Eureka Mignon Specialita 55

Is the Specialita really that quiet?

Yes. The thick-walled, sound-dampened metal housing with rubber mounts noticeably lowers the grinding noise – it's one of the quietest grinders in its class. In the showroom, it runs without interrupting a conversation.

Is it for espresso or also for filter?

It's built as an espresso grinder, and that's where its strength lies. Thanks to the stepless adjustment, it also covers the filter range; grind output is around 1.4 to 1.8 g/s for espresso and 1.9 to 2.5 g/s for filter.

What is the ACE-System?

ACE stands for Anti-Clump & Electrostaticity. It reduces static charge in the grounds, so the powder falls into the portafilter fluffy and clump-free – that ensures an even dose.

Can I lose the setting when cleaning?

No. The micrometric adjustment acts below the burr set, so your grind setting is preserved when disassembling and cleaning.
