La Marzocco retaining spring ring for the LEVA brew group – the ring that holds the shower screen
In the LEVA brew group, a retaining ring sits behind the shower screen and holds everything in place: screen, gasket, seat. It does its job quietly as long as it keeps its tension. Once that fades, the screen starts to rattle, the gasket gets play, and water flows unevenly through the puck – visible as a lopsided extraction in the bottomless portafilter.
A part costing under ten francs that you simply include in every group overhaul.
When it is due
When the shower screen no longer sits snugly or can be moved by hand. When the ring has lost its shape on removal or shows corrosion. And as a rule whenever you are taking the group apart anyway – a deformed ring never returns to its original tension.

Who it is for
For anyone who maintains their LEVA themselves and opens the group regularly. And for every service in which the shower screen and gasket are replaced – this ring then belongs in the same order.
What goes with it
Right next to it you will find the LEVA shower screen (new version) with matching spring and the O-rings for the LEVA. To remove the screen, the extraction hook for the LEVA shower screen helps. For the routine afterwards, Puly Caff Plus cleaning powder. Everything else under La Marzocco accessories and spare parts.
Tip from our café
We never bend a worn-out retaining ring back into shape. It then holds for a few weeks and loses its tension again just when nobody expects it. At this price, rebending is the more expensive solution. This is our workshop routine from Bern and Zurich, not a manufacturer specification. For dialling in afterwards we use Nutty Delight, Cozy Chocolate for chocolatey notes and Very Nutty for maximum body. All roasts under Coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold once they have been installed or test-fitted on a machine. So before ordering, check your machine's model, year of manufacture and serial number – or drop us a quick message and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know the ring is worn out?
The shower screen no longer sits snugly, can be moved by hand or rattles during flushing.
Do I need special tools?
The extraction hook helps you take out the screen. The ring itself is fitted without tools.
Can I bend the old ring back into shape?
Technically yes, sensibly no. The tension does not come back, and the next failure comes at an inconvenient moment.
Does it also fit the KB90 or Linea?
This part is listed for the LEVA. For other model ranges, we check the fit using the serial number.
Can I see the part in the showroom?
Our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) show a wide selection, but not our entire range – the display changes. Drop us a quick line at [email protected] before your visit, and we will check whether the product you have in mind is currently there.
