The matte black outer skin that gives your Micra a whole outfit again
The housing shell is the part of the Linea Micra you actually see: the drawn hood that sits over the boiler, lines and electrics and gives the machine its silhouette. In matte black it swallows light instead of reflecting it – but in return it shows every knock mercilessly.
And knocks do happen. The move into the new kitchen, the edge of the wall cabinet as you pull the machine out, the portafilter that once hits the side without slowing down. The technology keeps running afterwards, but you see the dent with every espresso.
When it is due
It is time for a new shell when the sheet metal has a visible dent or a kink, when the matte coating is scratched or worn over a large area, when corrosion appears on an edge, or when you want to preserve the value of the machine after an accident before passing it on.

Important for installation
To replace it, the machine is largely dismantled: the shell sits over the boiler, lines and mains voltage. Disconnect the machine from the mains beforehand and let it cool down and depressurise. We deliberately do not give step-by-step instructions here and recommend having it done by a qualified professional – also because a new housing scratches very easily when it is fitted.
Who it is for
For everyone whose Micra runs perfectly from a technical point of view but has taken a dent, and for workshops that refurbish the look of a machine before reselling it.
What goes with it
The same part in chrome is the Chrome housing for Linea Micra. It goes well with the Front panel Linea Micra, the Front housing frame Linea Micra and the group cover. Everything else under La Marzocco Linea Micra spare parts and Original spare parts.
Tip from our workshop
Matte black does not forgive a microfibre cloth with coffee oil in it – it polishes spots to a shine, and you will see them in raking light forever. At our places in Bern and Zurich every matte machine gets its own clean cloth and only water; polish stays in the cupboard. That is our routine, not a manufacturer requirement. Once the machine is back in place, we run it in with Nutty Delight, Cozy Chocolate for chocolatey notes and Very Nutty for body. All roasts under Coffee beans.
No returns
Spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a test fitting on the appliance. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a short message and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
Frequently asked questions
Is the front plate included?
No. Only the housing shell is supplied. You order the front, frame and add-on parts separately.
Does the shell also fit a Linea Mini?
No. This shell is for the Linea Micra. The Mini has its own housing.
Is matte black as delicate as chrome?
Delicate in a different way: chrome shows fingerprints, matte black shows polished spots and scratches. Both only like a soft, clean cloth.
Can I replace it myself?
The machine has to be largely dismantled for this. We recommend a qualified professional.
Can I see the part in the showroom?
Our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) show a wide selection, but not our entire range – the display changes. Drop us a quick line at [email protected] before your visit, and we will check whether the product you have in mind is currently there.
