The chrome shell of the Micra, completely renewed
The housing is the chrome-plated outer shell of the Linea Micra: the surface you see and touch every day. It carries nothing that holds water, and that is exactly why its condition is purely a question of looks – and on a machine of this class, that is anything but secondary.
Chrome is hard, but not indestructible. A fall during a move, a deep scrape from a kitchen cupboard, blisters under the plating after years in a humid environment: none of this can be polished out. If you want to resell your Micra or simply enjoy looking at it again, you replace the shell. Part number C.1.658.
When it is due
- Deep scratches or scrapes that cannot be polished out.
- Dents or bumps after transport or a fall.
- Blisters or dark spots under the chrome plating.
- Rust spots on edges and cut-outs.
- The housing no longer sits flush after a repair.

Important for installation
To replace the housing, the machine has to be largely dismantled. Underneath are the boiler, lines and all the electrics. Disconnect the machine from the mains, let it cool down completely, depressurise it and drain it. We deliberately do not give step-by-step instructions here – this is a workshop job, and at the end everything also has to be leak-tight and correctly wired again.
Who it is for
For anyone who wants to give their Micra a complete visual refresh after transport damage or after years of daily use, and for dealers preparing a machine for resale.
What goes with it
From our workshop
In Bern and Zurich, we only handle a new housing with cotton gloves until it is fitted. Fingerprints on fresh chrome etch in with heat and can later only be removed with polish. Once the housing is in place, the first shot is an espresso made with Nutty Delight. This is our routine, not a manufacturer specification.
No returns
Spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after being installed or test-fitted on a machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a line and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
Frequently asked questions
Are the machine or its internals included?
No. Only the chrome-plated outer shell is supplied. Everything underneath stays yours.
Are the front panel and drip tray included?
No. These are separate parts that we stock individually.
Can I replace the housing myself?
We advise against it. The machine has to be largely dismantled for this, and afterwards everything has to be leak-tight and correctly wired again. This is a workshop job.
Is the housing also available in black?
Yes, the matt black version is also available. Write to us if you need it and we will order it for you.
Can I see the part in your showroom?
Yes. We are in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Bring the serial number of your machine or the old part with you, and we will compare them right at the counter.
