Rocket Boxer grid for the cup tray – 30.5 × 30.5 cm plastic for continuous operation
The cups sit on top of the Boxer and draw heat from the boiler. Underneath them lies a square plastic grid, 30.5 × 30.5 centimetres, which separates the cups from the hot metal plate and lets the air circulate.
The Boxer is built for commercial use, and in a bar this grid is used hundreds of times a day. Accordingly, it ages faster than the same part in a kitchen at home.
When it's due
Plastic that is constantly heated from below and loaded with wet cups from above becomes brittle. The typical signs: cracks between the bars, a corner that breaks off when you lift it out, a yellowish discolouration – and a grid that sags in the middle when a stack of cups is placed on it.
In hospitality, limescale adds to this. Where cups are put down wet, the water evaporates on the warm grid and leaves rings that at some point can no longer be removed.

Who it's for
For bars, cafés and businesses running a Boxer continuously whose tray grid is cracked or sagging. An inexpensive part that puts the workspace on top of the machine back in order.
Also sensible as a spare on the shelf – a grid that breaks in the middle of service is better replaced right away than spending four days waiting for a new one.
What goes with it
Around the brew group of the same machine, we stock the Boxer brew group, the shower screen for the brew group and the dual pressure gauge for the Boxer. For steam, there is the Boxer steam valve.
Matching portafilters for the series are the single portafilter and the double portafilter. For the water drain, we stock the elbow fitting with the matching O-ring.
Everything for the machine is in the Rocket Boxer spare parts section, plus machine and grinder cleaning and the service parts section.
From our workshop
At the businesses we look after, the tray grid goes into the sink once a week instead of just getting a wipe with a cloth. The warm plastic picks up milk splashes that you can't see from above but can clearly smell on the underside. That is our routine from Bern and Zurich, not a manufacturer's specification.
And if you put cups down wet, you bring the limescale along with them: drying them briefly before stacking saves a grid in the end.
With it, in Bern and Zurich we most like to drink Nutty Delight, Cozy Chocolate and, when it should have no acidity at all, Very Nutty. The full range is in our coffee beans.
No returns
Service parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after being installed or test-fitted on a machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick line and we'll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
Frequently asked questions
What are the dimensions of the grid?
30.5 × 30.5 centimetres. If in doubt, measure your tray before you order.
What is the part number of this grid?
We don't have a part number for this item, so we don't state one. If you have a number from a service document, we're happy to cross-check it.
Does it fit every Boxer?
It is made for the Boxer. The series comes in one-, two- and three-group versions – send us the model and serial number and we'll check the fit before you order.
Can I replace it myself?
Yes. The grid sits on the tray and is simply swapped out. Let the machine cool down first, as the plate underneath gets hot.
Can I see the part before buying?
Our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) show a wide selection, but not our entire range – the display changes. Drop us a quick line at [email protected] before your visit, and we will check whether the product you have in mind is currently there.
Unsure about the fit? Write to us at [email protected]. We deliver across Switzerland and to Liechtenstein in 2-4 working days.
