Rocket portafilter, 2 spouts, for R8 and R9 – complete with 14 g basket
The double portafilter is the most-used tool in any café. It is locked in, knocked out, rinsed and locked in again, often several hundred times a day. At some point it shows: in how it sits in the group, in play in the handle, on the rim of the basket.
This version has two spouts and comes with the 14-gram basket. It carries part number M699905527 and belongs to the portafilter system of the R8 and R9.
Descale first, then replace
Before you replace a basket, it's worth checking for limescale. A basket with clogged holes behaves like a faulty part: the shot runs unevenly, spraying in one spot and barely dripping in another. A backflush with cleaning powder and a descaling often achieve more than a new part. You'll find our range for this under Machine and grinder cleaning.
Only if the basket still runs unevenly after cleaning, or the holes are visibly widened, is it time for a replacement.
When it's due
The portafilter slips when you lock it in, or needs noticeably more travel than before until it sits.
One of the two spouts runs weaker than the other, even though the grounds are evenly distributed. If cleaning and descaling change nothing, it's time for a new portafilter.
The plastic handle is cracked or loose, or the spouts are bent. For groups in constant double use during daily service, a spare portafilter is worthwhile anyway.

There is also the bottomless portafilter with double basket, which we carry as a barista accessory rather than as an original spare part. Individual baskets are available as a 7 g basket and as a 14 g basket.
For the four portafilters of the Appartamento TCA and the other home machines, our records list no part number, and for none of the eight do they state the diameter of the basket. If you're not sure which model series you have in front of you: send us the serial number and we'll identify it.
Who it's for
For businesses with an R8 or R9, where the double portafilter is in use all day, and for workshops that want to keep a complete spare portafilter in stock.
This portafilter is not intended for Rocket machines in the home; those take the portafilters of their respective model series.

From our workshop
In Bern and Zurich we keep one more portafilter per machine than the machine has groups. The spare one soaks overnight in the cleaning bath while the other stays in use. That way there is never a freshly rinsed, cold portafilter in the group in the morning that throws off the first two shots. This is our routine, not a manufacturer requirement.
To break in a new portafilter, we like to use something forgiving: Nutty Delight forgives the first uneven shots, while Cozy Chocolate clearly shows whether the extraction is on point. The full range is listed under Coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a trial fit on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick message and we'll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
Frequently asked questions
Does the portafilter fit every R9?
Via part number M699905527 it is assigned to the R8 and R9 series. The R9 ONE has its own portafilters with the numbers R699906520 and R699906521. If in doubt, send us the serial number.
Is the basket included in the price?
Yes, the 14-gram basket is included in the scope of delivery.
Can I swap the 14 g basket for a different one?
We carry individual baskets as separate items. Which sizes make sense on your machine depends on your grinder and recipe. Ask us if you're unsure.
Is this an electrical part?
No. The portafilter is a purely mechanical component without any electrical function.
Can I see the part in your showroom?
Yes. We're in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Bring the serial number of your machine and we'll check the fit together at the counter.
