Rocket double portafilter for the Appartamento TCA – two spouts, one shot
Two streams that start at the same time and darken at the same time – with a double spout you can see straight away whether the distribution in the filter basket was right. This complete portafilter for the Rocket Appartamento TCA comes with filter basket and spring and is ready to use straight away.
A portafilter lasts a long time, but it takes a lot of punishment: locking in, knocking out, rinsing, and every now and then a fall onto the drip tray. At some point the handle develops play, the bayonet turns further than it used to, or one of the two spouts keeps dripping after the shot. As a second portafilter alongside a single-spout one it is also simply practical: one stays set up for light roasts, the other for dark ones.
Descale first, then replace
Before you order a complete portafilter: if the filter basket sits firmly but the shot runs sluggishly and unevenly, this is usually down to limescale and coffee oils in the basket, not the portafilter. A cycle with cleaning powder and, depending on your water, descaling the machine often achieve more than a new part. You'll find everything you need in our machine and grinder cleaning range. Only when the handle, bayonet or spout is mechanically worn out is a replacement worthwhile.
When it's time
When the handle develops play against the portafilter or twists. When the portafilter no longer locks cleanly into the bayonet. When the two spouts run unevenly even though grind size and distribution are right, or when one of them is bent and keeps dripping. And when the edges of the filter basket are worn and the spring no longer holds it securely.

In addition, there is the bottomless portafilter with double basket, which we carry as a barista accessory rather than as a service part. Individual filter baskets are available as a 7 g basket and as a 14 g basket.
For the four portafilters of the Appartamento TCA and the other home machines, our documentation lists no part number, and for none of the eight does it state the diameter of the filter basket. If you're not sure which model series you have in front of you: send us the serial number and we'll identify it.
Who it's for
For anyone with a Rocket Appartamento TCA who pulls two cups from one shot, and for anyone who wants a second portafilter to alternate with the existing one. If you let both spouts run into one cup anyway, the single-spout portafilter will serve you just as well.
What goes with it
Around the brew group, we carry the flange gasket and the fine filter. Individual filter baskets are available as a 7 g basket and as a 14 g basket. From the workshop in Bern and Zurich, as our own routine rather than a manufacturer's specification: when the two spouts run unevenly, we look at the distribution in the filter basket first and only then at the portafilter. A second portafilter to alternate with helps with the assessment – same coffee, same grinder, two handles, and the difference shows immediately. Once a day the portafilter and basket go into cleaning powder, because coffee oils build up exactly where you can't see them. We usually drink Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight, and for no acidity at all Very Nutty. There's more in our coffee beans.
No returns
Service parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold once they have been installed or test-fitted on a machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a short message and we'll clarify compatibility together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
Frequently asked questions
Is a filter basket included?
Yes. The item name states filter basket and spring as included. Our documentation doesn't say what size the filter basket is – if you need to know beforehand, drop us a short message.
Does the portafilter also fit an older Appartamento without TCA?
It is specified for the Appartamento TCA. Our documentation says nothing about other model series. Send us the serial number of your machine and we'll check compatibility.
What is the difference from the single portafilter?
The number of spouts. This one has two, the other one has one. We carry both separately, and both are listed further up.
Is there a part number for it?
Our documentation doesn't list one for this item. We'd rather write nothing here than guess a number. If you have a number from service documentation, send it to us and we'll cross-check.
Can I look at the part in your showroom?
Our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) show a wide selection, but not our entire range – the display changes.
