ECM Synchronika Anthracite – Dual Boiler with E61

Powder-coated anthracite chassis, combined with polished stainless steel: The Synchronika Anthracite is a dual boiler machine with a unique appearance. Two separate boilers independently maintain brewing water and steam temperatures – from ECM, a German manufacturer based in Bammental near Heidelberg, which produces by hand in Germany and Italy.

Coffee Coaching Club is an ECM partner in Switzerland. With every new coffee machine from CHF 1'500, a private barista introduction course of around 60 minutes is included – in Bern, Zurich or online, for up to two people from the same household or company attending together. The course must take place within one month of delivery; after that, the entitlement expires. Get in touch with us for the course and we'll find a date together. Swiss warranty and post-purchase support included.

All Features at a Glance

Dual Boiler with PID

A stainless steel coffee boiler with 0.75 liters and a steam/hot water boiler with 2.0 liters, both insulated. The PID display allows you to set the temperature of both boilers separately, and you can see the extraction time in seconds during brewing.

ECM E61 Brew Group

The patented ECM E61 brew group with a stainless steel bell ensures a stable brewing temperature. A programmable reminder helps with regular brew group cleaning.

Rotary Pump and Fixed Water Connection

The quiet rotary pump can be switched from the water tank to a fixed water connection, and a drain for residual water is possible. Quick-steam valves with 70-degree mechanism and no-burn steam and hot water wands make operation easier.

Technical Specifications

Heaters with 1200 and 1400 watts, ergonomic ECM filter holders, dimensions 340 × 475 × 420 mm (without filter holder), weight approx. 30 kg.

Who it's for

For anyone who wants to independently control brewing temperature and steam and is looking for a machine for many years. Those who regularly make milk-based drinks and fine-tune brewing temperatures will find a lot of control here. The fixed water option also makes it interesting for frequent users.

What goes with it

A precise coffee grinder such as from the Eureka series, a good tamper, and fresh beans like Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight. More models in the ECM collection.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Dual Boiler mean?

Two separate boilers: one for brewing water, one for steam and hot water. This allows you to set the brewing temperature precisely, independently of the steam, and use both simultaneously.

Can I connect it to the water line?

Yes. The rotary pump allows for a fixed water connection. We can set this up for you upon delivery if desired.

How long does it take to heat up?

Allow about 20 minutes for the E61 brew group to reach a stable temperature.

Can I see the Synchronika Anthracite live before buying?

That depends on whether the Synchronika Anthracite is on display right now. Our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich Oerlikon (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) show a wide selection, but not our entire range – it is too large for that, and the display changes. Drop us a quick line at [email protected] before your visit, and we will check whether the Synchronika Anthracite is currently there.

Roastery Tip

You can make the most of the dual boiler by selecting the brewing temperature according to the bean: slightly higher for light roasts, slightly lower for dark ones. With the rotary pump, the pressure remains steady during extraction – ideal for achieving clean, longer extractions for light beans. This is our recommendation, one of many.
