The small part the support can't guide cleanly without
The slide belongs to the tamper's portafilter support. It guides the support along its track so that the portafilter always ends up in the same position when you insert it – and that is exactly what makes the ram come down centred on the puck rather than at an angle.
It is an inexpensive part in an expensive place. When it is worn or broken, you don't notice straight away: the support develops some play, the portafilter sits slightly off-centre, and at the bar this shows up as unevenly extracted espresso whose cause you first look for elsewhere.
When it is due
It is due when the portafilter support has play or wobbles, when it catches in its track, when the slide is visibly worn or broken – or when it was removed anyway during the last service.

Important for installation
The slide sits in the tamper's moving mount. Disconnect the machine from the mains before working on it. After installation, check that the support runs without play and without catching along its entire travel. We deliberately do not provide step-by-step instructions here.
Who it is for
For service companies and for bars that replace the inexpensive wear part at the same time while the machine is open anyway.
What goes with it

We order the slide and screw together, even if only one of them looks defective. Together they cost less than a second trip to the machine – that is our routine, not a manufacturer requirement. No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a test fitting on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a line and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.

What does the M6 in the designation stand for?
Our documentation lists the part as the M6 slide and assigns it to the PuqPress M5, without explaining the designation. We deliberately do not interpret it here – what counts is the number 1-110-0149-1.
Is the screw included?
No, the M6 × 14 screw with spring washer is a separate item.
Does the slide also fit the M3, M4 or M6?
Our documentation names the M5. It says nothing about the other models – write to us and tell us which machine you have, and we will check it.
Do I need special tools?
Our documentation gives no information on this. As the slide sits in the moving mount, we recommend installation by a specialist.
