Rocket lever gasket kit R9 – so the brew closes cleanly again
The lever on the R9 has a sound of its own. A firm pressure point, a brief resistance, then the brew begins. When that point turns soft and the lever feels spongy in your hand, it is rarely the lever itself – but the small gaskets behind it.
This kit contains the gaskets for the lever area of the Rocket R9. They sit in a spot that is moved, heated and cooled down a hundred times a day. There, rubber loses its elasticity, hardens and starts to let water past. Part number S299906075.

The kit is due when the lever loses its defined pressure point and feels soft. When water escapes sideways at the group or keeps dripping during the brew, even though the lever is closed. When it keeps running longer than usual after closing. And at the latest when the old gaskets turn out brittle during a service and crack instead of stretching.

Important for installation
The gaskets sit inside the machine at a pressurised point. Before any work, the machine must be unplugged, depressurised and cooled down. We deliberately do not give step-by-step instructions here. The replacement belongs in the hands of a specialist who can dismantle the group, check the sealing seats and then test for leaks.

Workshop tip from Bern and Zurich
This is our routine, not a manufacturer specification: we replace lever and valve gaskets in the same pass, even if only one of the two spots was showing problems. The group is open anyway, and starting over two weeks later costs more time than the second set. Afterwards we pull a round of espresso as a check, usually Nutty Delight, because you can taste an uneven brew in it straight away. With milk we use Cozy Chocolate, for strong cups Very Nutty. Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a test fitting on the machine.
