The red silicone ring that keeps your machine in place on the counter
This ring doesn't seal anything. It sits on the outside of the foot and has exactly one job: friction. As long as it's there, the machine stays where you put it – even when you lock in the portafilter with a swing or pull the lever firmly.
If it's gone or has hardened, the machine slides a few millimetres with every shot, and you only notice once it's standing crooked after two weeks or has wandered up against the wall. You notice it fastest on natural stone and on lacquered wood.
When it's due
When the machine slides away as you lock in the portafilter. When it wanders without you doing anything. When the ring on the foot is missing, torn, or feels smooth and hard instead of grippy.

Who it's for
For anyone whose machine no longer stays put on a smooth surface – and for anyone who orders the rings along with a foot replacement instead of reusing the old ones.
What goes with it
We carry the feet themselves as Foot, 2-part, for Giotto, Evoluzione R, R58 and R60V and Foot for Appartamento TCA. For the R Cinquantotto there is also the O-ring 18 × 5 mm for the machine foot – that's a different position with its own number. Workshop tip from Bern and Zurich
When a machine wanders at our place, we look at the feet first and only then at the counter. Usually one of these rings is missing, and the machine has been standing on bare metal for months. A ring for a few francs saves you a rubber mat that never quite looks right. This is our workshop routine, not a manufacturer specification. To dial in afterwards we use Nutty Delight, for chocolatey notes Cozy Chocolate and for body Very Nutty. All roasts under Coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for your order and cannot be resold after being installed or test-fitted on a machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick line and we'll clarify the fit together. This does not affect your rights in the case of defective goods.

Is this the same ring as the 18 × 5 mm O-ring for the Cinquantotto foot?
No. These are two different positions with their own part numbers. This one is R849906343, the other A449906954.
What inner diameter and cross-section does it have?
The dimensions are not given in the documentation for number R849906343. We won't make any claims about them – order by part number.
How many do I need?
One ring is supplied. How many feet your machine has and whether each one has a ring, you can see on your machine – if in doubt, write to us.
Is the ring heat-resistant?
It sits on the outside of the foot and not in the water or steam path. Silicone is the usual material for this position; the manufacturer gives no more detailed information.
