La Marzocco tamping mat – Corner Tamping Mat with logo

While tamping, the portafilter rests on soft silicone instead of the counter, the mat sits on the edge of the worktop, and the coffee grounds stay where they belong.

The tamping mat from La Marzocco's Barista Basics line is made of food-safe silicone rubber and carries the embossed La Marzocco logo. It protects the worktop and the portafilter while tamping. Coffee Coaching Club is a partner of La Marzocco; you can buy the mat online in Switzerland or pick it up in Bern and Zurich.

    Features

La Marzocco tamping mat on the edge of a wooden worktop

For the edge of modern worktops

The mat wraps over the corner of the worktop. La Marzocco deliberately kept the wrap-around part short so the mat looks slim and suits today's countertops.

    Easy to clean

The surface has no areas where coffee grounds get trapped. A damp cloth is enough, and the mat is ready for the next dose.

    Who it's made for

For everyone who tamps with a portafilter at home or in the office and wants a firm, clean surface for it. Others have tamped directly on the counter for years and are happy with that. Both are legitimate, our opinion is one of many.

For the tamper: for anyone who wants a tamper that is affordable and precise, the Spring-Loaded Tamper from the Normcore Collection. If you want more, you'll find the tampers of the Weber Workshops Collection. Puck screens and WDT tools are in the barista accessories. If you're still looking for the right machine, narrow down the choice with our coffee machine advice tool or browse the La Marzocco Collection.

    Frequently asked questions

What is the tamping mat for?

What is the mat made of?

Food-safe silicone rubber, with the embossed La Marzocco logo.

Does the mat fit every portafilter?

The mat has no cutout for a specific diameter, just one continuous surface.

A damp cloth is usually enough. The surface has no areas where coffee grounds get trapped.

Can I see the product before buying it?

Our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) show a wide selection, but not our entire range – the display changes. Drop us a quick line at [email protected] before your visit, and we will check whether the product you have in mind is currently there.

    How fast is delivery?

Delivery throughout Switzerland and to Liechtenstein in 2–4 working days. Click & Collect in Bern and Zurich Oerlikon is possible.

Tip from the roastery: An evenly tamped puck shows what's in the bean. With Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight, that means body, chocolate and nuts. If you're looking for maximum body without acidity, you'll find it in Very Nutty; if you're curious about a fruity side, in Wild Peach. That's our recommendation, one of many.
