MHW-3BOMBER ABS Portafilter Holder 51–58 mm – steady tamping, everything within reach
You set the portafilter into the holder, the handle reaches through the cut-out, and the holder stands still on the counter. One even press with the tamper, nothing wobbles. Next to it, tamper and distributor wait in their own recesses until you need them again.
The holder from MHW-3BOMBER is made of black ABS and has three round recesses: one for the portafilter and one each for tamper and distributor. It is designed for portafilters, tampers and distributors of 51, 54 and 58 mm. An adjusting nut lets you set the support to the right height, so different handles sit level too. The cylindrical insert can be removed, and silicone mats on the underside keep the holder from slipping and protect your worktop.
Easy care in ABS
ABS is resistant to cold and heat, to knocks and to abrasion. You can wash the whole holder: coffee grounds that miss the basket while tamping simply rinse away. Unlike with wood, you do not need to worry about the portafilter damaging a surface over time.

Who it is made for
For everyone with a portafilter machine who wants a steady, level base for tamping and would rather not leave tamper and distributor lying loose on the counter. Handy if you use several portafilter sizes, and for small kitchens where a large station has no room. And for everyone who would rather give it a quick rinse than look after wood.
Tip from our café: Set the height once with your own portafilter and then leave it. When the portafilter sits level, you place the tamper more evenly, and in our experience the espresso then runs through more evenly. You taste this especially with bold beans like Very Nutty or our espresso blend Cozy Nut, which quickly taste bitter after a crooked tamp. If you like it fruitier, try Bright Cassis: with a clean tamp, the cassis note comes through more clearly. That is our recommendation, one of many.

How do I clean the holder?
The whole ABS holder can be washed with water; take out the cylindrical insert to do so. In our experience it is worth letting it dry well afterwards so the silicone mats grip securely again.
