Varia AURA Smart Kettle 0.8L – Gooseneck Kettle with PID Temperature Control
Sunday morning. You turn the dial, set it to 93°C, and wait – less than three minutes. Then you pour slowly and in circles, the water hits the coffee bed, and the aroma rises. You feel the resistance in the spout and control the flow. The AURA 0.8L transforms boiling water into a conscious step in your ritual.
Coffee Coaching Club is the exclusive Swiss importer of Varia. The AURA 0.8L is available in two handle variations – Standard and FLUX Edition – both in black and white.
Standard or FLUX Edition
Both share the same technology: PID control, 1200W Strix heating element, OLED display, memory function, Smart Wake-Up, and gooseneck with Flow Control. The difference lies in the handle – the Standard version has a classic handle with a counterweight for balance, while the FLUX Edition has an ergonomic handle with multiple grip positions. Which one fits better depends on how you hold the kettle; the heating time of the FLUX is minimally shorter.
What the AURA offers
The PID control maintains the set temperature stably between 40 and 100°C, and the gooseneck spout with Flow Restrictor allows a flow rate of approximately 2.2 to 22 ml/s. Whether it's pour-over at 93°C, green tea at 70°C, or matcha at 75 to 77°C – you set the temperature, and the AURA maintains it. The 1200W Strix element heats 500 ml in under three minutes, the memory function keeps it for up to 90 minutes, and the Smart Wake-Up function can be programmed to a specific time.

Who the AURA 0.8L is for
The 0.8L is suitable for pour-over methods like V60, Chemex, or Kalita Wave, for tea requiring precise temperature, and for matcha. Wherever pouring speed and stable temperature are crucial, the gooseneck excels. If you need larger quantities for French press or cupping, the AURA 1.5L with a high-flow spout is a better choice.
Good to know
Press the button before lifting the kettle from the base – otherwise, the device will restart when put back. The body is made of 304 stainless steel, and the base is plastic, as is common with electric kettles. There is no app connectivity; it is controlled via a dial and buttons – depending on your perspective, an advantage or a limitation.
Matching products
The AURA pairs well with the brewers and the Varia FLO Dripper from the Varia Collection, for weighing with Normcore scales or Acaia scales, and freshly roasted beans from our coffee roastery. Filters and other pour-over accessories can be found in the Filter Equipment section.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which version do I need for Switzerland?
The 220/240V version. The Swiss version is stored as standard in our shop.
Standard or FLUX Edition?
The technology is identical; the difference is in the handle. Those who use various pouring techniques or often hold the kettle sideways often find the FLUX handle more comfortable.
Is the AURA also available in a larger size?
Yes, the AURA 1.5L with a high-flow spout, suitable for French Press and cupping.
Can I see the AURA before purchasing?
We carry Varia products in our showrooms in Bern and Zurich. Please contact us briefly beforehand to ensure the kettle is on-site.
Roastery Tip
Brewing temperature shifts the profile: higher temperatures around 94 to 96°C emphasize body, lower temperatures around 88 to 92°C highlight fruity notes – depending on roast and grind. For pour-over, we start our Cozy Chocolate at around 93°C; the Nutty Delight tolerates minor fluctuations well and is suitable for practice. This is our recommendation, one of many.
