Apax Lab Box Set – three water profiles to discover
Same bean, same machine, same settings – and yet every cup tastes different depending on the water behind it.
The Apax Lab Box Set combines the three mineral concentrates Tonik, Jamm and Lylac. With them, you build your own brew water and decide whether your coffee turns out clear and fruity, round and sweet, or delicate and floral.
Three profiles, three directions
Tonik emphasises the lively character – clear, crisp, fruity. Jamm brings fullness and sweetness, a creamy mouthfeel. Lylac highlights the delicate, floral notes, with a silky finish. Water is the solvent of extraction: minerals like magnesium bring out fruity and floral aromas, calcium adds body, bicarbonate provides balance. The direction is up to you.
How to Use It
Add a few drops directly to the cup, or mix around 3 to 4 grams of concentrate per litre into demineralised water. Recipes and a calculator are available from Apax Lab. Feel free to combine the profiles to find your own recipe. There's no right or wrong – the coffee has to taste good to you.

Do I need demineralised water?
For a full recipe, yes: a mineral-free base (demineralised or via reverse osmosis) makes dosing predictable. Alternatively, you can add a few drops directly to the finished cup.
