Eureka Atom W 65 Casa – Grind-by-Weight Espresso Grinder with 65mm Flat Burrs
6:45 a.m. You're standing in the kitchen, not quite awake yet. You attach the portafilter, press a button – and the grinder starts grinding. Quietly, quickly, and it stops automatically at exactly 18.0 grams. No weighing, no adjusting, no thinking. The Eureka Atom W 65 Casa is an espresso grinder with an integrated scale (grind-by-weight), 65mm flat burrs made of hardened steel, and stepless micrometric grind adjustment. The Casa version is the home version of the Atom W 65 – same GBW technology, more compact housing, 300g bean hopper. Made in Florence, Italy. Available in matte black and chrome from our Coffee Coaching Club.
What grind-by-weight means in practice
Most grinders dose by time – you set the grinding time and hope the weight is correct. If you change the roast or grind setting, the amount is often no longer accurate. The Atom W 65 Casa measures the weight of the ground coffee in real time and automatically stops at the set weight in grams. According to tests, the tolerance is approximately ±0.2g.
In everyday use, this means: insert the portafilter, press the button, and the grinder stops. Thanks to the ACE system, the ground coffee is collected in the portafilter without any clumps. This is a workflow that makes all the difference in the morning: no weighing, no adjustments. Simply grind and get started.

Who is the Atom W 65 Casa suitable for?
The Casa is aimed at home baristas who are looking for a hopper grinder with grind-by-weight and don't require single dosing. This is a different workflow than with single-dose grinders like the Varia VS4, where each portion is weighed individually.
If you drink the same roast daily and appreciate a quick, uncomplicated workflow, the Casa is a good choice. However, if you frequently switch between roasts, a single-dose grinder is more flexible, as hopper grinders inherently retain coffee grounds in the burrs.
Known limitations
- Settling-in phase after grind size change: After major adjustments to the grind size, the GBW scale usually needs 1-2 cycles to adjust to the new flow behavior.
- Retention: As a hopper grinder, the Atom W 65 Casa has a certain retention (approx. 2g). Therefore, when changing beans, you should grind through a few grams.
- Height: At 436mm, the Casa is relatively tall. Check beforehand whether it fits under your kitchen cabinets.
- Pure espresso grinder: The Burr geometry is optimized for espresso. The Casa is not designed for filter coffee or French press.
The Coffee Coaching Club tip: GBW in everyday life
GBW's value lies in its repeatability. You find a roast you like, set it to 18g – and in the morning you just press a button. No searching for the scale, no taring. Just coffee.
Our Cozy Chocolate grinds smoothly through the 65mm flat burrs. The Nutty Delight is similarly straightforward. Once you've adjusted the grind setting, the Casa makes your morning routine pleasantly quiet and efficient.

Frequently asked questions about the Eureka Atom W 65 Casa
What distinguishes the Casa from the commercial Atom W 65?
The GBW technology and the 65mm burrs are identical. However, the Casa has a more compact housing and a smaller bean hopper (300g), making it ideal for home use.
Do I also need a scale?
Not for dosing the coffee grounds. A separate brewing scale is still useful for dispensing espresso (output weight in the cup) to control the extraction.
How long is the delivery time?
We deliver throughout Switzerland in 2–4 working days. Click & Collect is available during business hours in both showrooms.
