Eureka Atom W 65 Casa – Grind-by-Weight Espresso Grinder for Home Use
In the kitchen in the morning, before the first sip: attach the portafilter, press the button – the grinder stops automatically at 18.0 grams. No taring, no re-weighing, no corrections.
The Atom W 65 Casa is the home version of the commercial Atom W 65: the same grind-by-weight technology with integrated scale and 65mm hardened steel flat burrs, plus a more compact housing with a 300-gram bean hopper. Coffee Coaching Club carries the Eureka range; Eureka has been manufacturing in Florence, Italy, since 1920. Available in Matte Black and Chrome.
What Grind by Weight Means in Everyday Life
Most grinders dose by time – you set how long it grinds and hope the weight is correct. If you change the roast or adjust the grind size, the amount often no longer matches. The Casa measures the weight of the ground coffee in real-time and stops automatically at the set gram amount, with a tolerance of about 0.2 grams. In everyday life, this means: attach, press, done – the ground coffee is clump-free in the portafilter thanks to the ACE system.
65mm Burrs and Quiet Operation
The 65mm hardened steel flat burrs deliver a consistent grind and grind 1.8 to 3 grams per second. Silent Technology noticeably dampens grinding noise, and the ACE system (Anti-Clump & Electrostaticity) reduces clumps and static charge.
Operation and Adjustment
The touch display with IPS technology guides you through two programmable weight doses and continuous grinding mode, adjustable in 0.1-gram increments. The grind size is continuously and micrometrically adjusted – Eureka's patented system allows for fine adjustments for espresso. The portafilter fork holds the portafilter hands-free.

Who it's for
The Casa is aimed at home baristas looking for a hopper grinder with Grind by Weight and who can do without single-dosing. If you drink the same roast daily and appreciate a quick, uncomplicated process, this is the right choice for you. If you constantly switch between roasts, a single-dose grinder, such as from the Varia collection, offers more flexibility – as hopper grinders inherently have some retention in the grinding mechanism.
What you should know
- After major grind size changes, the scale usually needs one to two cycles to adjust to the new flow behavior.
- As a hopper grinder, it has a retention of about 2 grams; when changing beans, it's best to grind a few grams through.
- At 436 mm high, it's rather tall – check beforehand if it fits under your kitchen cabinets.
- The burr geometry is designed for espresso; for pure filter coffee, a brew grinder is a better choice.

What goes with it
The Casa pairs well with any standard portafilter machine from our espresso machines. For tamping, a tamper – affordable and precise from the Normcore range, high-quality from the Weber Workshops collection. To cross-check the extraction in the cup, a brewing scale from the Acaia collection is useful. Plus fresh beans like Cozy Chocolate, Nutty Delight, or Very Nutty.
Frequently Asked Questions
What distinguishes the Casa from the commercial Atom W 65?
Grind-by-Weight technology and 65mm burrs are related. The Casa has a more compact housing and a smaller 300-gram bean hopper, making it convenient for home use. The commercial Atom 65W is designed for continuous operation.
Do I need an additional scale?
Not for dosing coffee grounds – the integrated scale handles that. For the output weight in the cup, a separate brewing scale is still useful to control extraction.
Is it also suitable for filter coffee?
It is designed for espresso. For pure filter, a brew grinder is a better choice; you can find suitable models in the Eureka grinder collection.
Can I see it before buying?
Certainly. You can experience the grinder live in Bern and Zurich Oerlikon. Bringing your own beans is welcome.
Roaster's Tip
Grind by Weight unleashes its value through repeatability: You find a roast you like, set your gram amount – and in the morning, you just press a button. Thanks to the 65mm burrs, Cozy Chocolate runs smoothly, as does Nutty Delight. 1:2 as a starting point. This is our recommendation, one of many.
