A spacer sleeve has exactly one job: it holds two components at the distance the design was calculated for. This one has a 9 mm inner diameter, an 18 mm outer diameter and is 11,5 mm long, made of plastic. In the LEVA service documentation it is listed under part number I.6.007.
Plastic sleeves on a lever machine work under heat and changing loads. Over time they settle, get shorter or develop scoring. What you notice then is not a defect but play: a component that can move even though it should sit firmly, and a mechanism that suddenly sounds different.
The sleeve is worn, compressed or cracked. Axial play has developed in the assembly that cannot be explained by the bushings and bearings. Or the group is being taken apart for a service anyway – then a sleeve for a few francs is the cheapest part of the whole job.

The sleeve sits inside the machine on an assembly that is under load. Work is done on a depressurised, cooled-down machine, and the springs of the lever group are only released with the designated tool. We deliberately do not give step-by-step instructions here.
For technicians overhauling a LEVA, and for businesses that keep a small stock of standard parts so that a service is not held up by a sleeve.
The same mechanism includes the flanged bushing 12 × 14 × 12, the flanged bushing 12 × 16 × 11,5 and the needle bearing 9 × 19 × 12. We carry a smaller spacer sleeve as the spacer sleeve 3,5 × 1 × 5 mm. Everything else under Spare parts for the LEVA and Original spare parts.
From our workshop
In Bern and Zurich we measure a removed plastic sleeve with a caliper before we throw it away. If it is missing a few tenths in length, it was the cause of the play – and you know you were looking in the right place. That is our routine, not a manufacturer requirement. Afterwards the first shot of Nutty Delight goes through the group, because you can taste an uneven lever movement in it. Rounder with Cozy Chocolate, stronger with Very Nutty; everything else under Coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a test fitting on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or send us a quick message and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
No. That one has the number I.6.004 and different dimensions. This sleeve is I.6.007 with 9 × 18 × 11,5 mm.
The working documentation does not say, and we are not guessing here. Send us the serial number and the position from your exploded view, and we will check it.
Only plastic is stated, without a material designation. We make no further claims.
We advise against it. With a spacer sleeve, a few tenths decide whether the assembly runs free of play.
Yes. We are in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Send us a quick message beforehand and we will have the part ready.
