A quarter turn, a soft click, and the drip tray is in place. On a GS3 that runs every day, the tray comes out and goes back in several times a day – and the turn lock goes through every one of these movements. That makes it exactly the part that is the first to tire in everyday use.
You notice it on the tray: it wobbles slightly, it no longer sits snugly in its position, or the lock has become hard to turn. We do not know of a part number for this part: it is listed neither in our service parts list nor in the catalogue we otherwise take the numbers from. We do not invent one – send us the serial number of your GS3, and we will identify it.

For everyone with a GS3 whose drip tray no longer holds properly. A small part that makes everyday work at the machine noticeably more pleasant – and costs considerably less than a new tray.
If the tray itself is warped or rusted through, the lock alone will not help; in that case, the complete tray is the right way to go.
From our workshop in Bern and Zurich
At our places in Bern and Zurich, the drip tray doesn't just come out in the evening, it also goes briefly under hot water – milk residue and coffee oils around the lock are the most common reason why it suddenly becomes stiff to turn. Very often, cleaning solves the problem and no new part is needed at all. That is our routine, not a manufacturer requirement. We pull the first coffee the next morning with the Cozy Chocolate or the Nutty Delight, or something stronger with the Very Nutty. All roasts are under Coffee beans.
No returns
Service parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after being installed or test-fitted on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a short message and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
When the tray wobbles, the lock spins without engaging or no longer clicks into place. If it has only become stiff, thorough cleaning often does the trick.
Yes. The lock sits on the outside of the drip tray and needs no special tools.
We do not claim that. The product name refers to the GS3. Send us your model and the serial number, and we will check.
We do not know of a number for this lock, and we do not invent one. If you have a number from service documentation, send it to us for comparison.
Yes. Come to our showroom in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 or in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b, and we will show it to you on the machine.
