The matte front – nicely understated, sensitive to polish
The matte black front panel gives the Linea Micra its calm, technical look. It is the largest continuous surface at eye level – and the only one on which you can see every fingerprint from a metre away.
Matte surfaces are unforgiving. A cloth with polish, a scouring pad or an aggressive cleaning agent creates smooth, shiny spots that can never be made matte again. On top of that comes the usual everyday life at the counter: the portafilter brushing over the edge as you twist it out, and the milk jug that gets put down a little too briskly.
When it's time
Replace the panel if it has shiny polished spots or widespread scratches. If the coating has worn through at an edge and the light base material shows through. If a dent is visible from the front. If a mounting point has torn out and the panel no longer sits flush. And also if you deliberately want to switch a chrome Micra to black.

Our own routine, not a manufacturer's specification: on matte black surfaces we work exclusively with a slightly damp microfibre cloth and without pressure. Anything that shines – polish, stainless steel spray, even well-meant care products – leaves greasy-looking spots after a few weeks, and you'll never get them matte again. Once the front is back in place, we pull a test shot: on the Micra we like to use the Nutty Delight, more chocolatey with the Cozy Chocolate, bold with the Very Nutty. Everything under Coffee beans.
Return excluded
Service parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured to order and cannot be resold after installation or a trial fitting on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick line and we'll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.

What number does the black front have?
C.1.660.60. The chrome version has C.1.660.
Is this the same as the RAL 9006 front panel?
No. The RAL 9006 front panel has its own part number and is a different part.
How do I clean the matte surface properly?
With a slightly damp microfibre cloth, without pressure and without polish or stainless steel spray. Shiny products leave permanent greasy-looking spots on a matte finish.
Can I replace it myself?
It is an external housing part. Switch off the machine first, disconnect it from the mains and let it cool down – behind it are hot and live components.
