On the KB90, a narrow plastic profile closes the gap between the panels. As long as it’s in place, the front looks like a single piece. If it’s missing, you’re left with an open edge where coffee grounds and milk splashes collect and where your fingers catch when you clean.
The profile is a part that suffers purely mechanically: it gets brushed by the cloth, knocked by the portafilter and levered off when the panels are changed. At some point a locking tab breaks, then it sticks out, and from then on every wipe gives it another chance to work its way further loose.

For bars that work with a KB90 and want the machine to still look like it did on day one after three years. And for service companies that like to have a new profile in their bag when changing panels, because the old one often doesn’t survive removal.
The counterpart is the right plastic profile. The KB90 group cover, 2 groups sits on top of the groups. All other parts are in the La Marzocco KB90 spare parts category and among the original spare parts.
From our workshop in Bern and Zurich: We listen for the click when fitting it. A profile you have to press on with force isn’t seated properly – either it’s the wrong side or a tab is already broken. Using force here only gets you a second broken part. That’s our routine, not a manufacturer specification. Afterwards we drink the final espresso, often with Nutty Delight or Cozy Chocolate, and on long days with Very Nutty. You’ll find them all under coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold once they have been installed or test-fitted on a machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick message and we’ll work out the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
From the barista’s point of view, looking at the machine from the front. If you’re unsure, send us a photo of the spot and we’ll tell you which of the two profiles you need.
Only the one that’s defective. Left and right are two different parts with their own numbers – C.2.049.SX for the left, C.2.049.DX for the right.
No, only the profile is supplied. Keep using your machine’s screws or order them separately.
The profile sits on the outside of the housing, not in the water or electrical path. Still, disconnect the machine from the mains before working on housing parts, and be gentle when releasing it – the plastic breaks more easily than you’d think.
Yes. At Gerberngasse 44 in Bern and Hagenholzstrasse 50b in Zurich, we’ll lay out both sides for you to compare.
